List of Morgan L Magid's Reviews
I'm light skinned and have spent much time outdoors. Dr. Magid has been removing this and that skin related something or other for a few years now and there isn't anything that he didn't easily handle. Also he and his staff always were concerned with minimizing pain if any. I might mention his staff seems of very high quality also. If there's any downside it's the difficulty in getting an appointment, it takes about 3 months last I heard, so you'll want to get started early. You can get on the cancellation list, but it seems there are few cancellations also.
I saw Dr Magid on somewhat short notice due another patients cancellation. He looked at everything I asked about and gave me great advice.
I had a very traumatic experience with Dr Magid. If I could, I would leave a zero star review. I was referred to Dr Magid because my PA thought my freckle looked weird. Dr Magid assured me that its probably OK and if I wanted , I could have a scrape test. When the scrape test came in the office phone harassed me for 3 days, calling me early in the morning and late at night urging me to come and have my freckle removed. After 3 days of phone harassment I was in shock and worried and I made an urgent appointment to have it removed the next day. I went in thinking that it would be removed leaving an inch scar at the most but Dr. Magid butchered my arm and took a chunk of skin 5 inches across and 3 inches wide! I was in shock. No only did he mutilate my body but he sewed me up wrong (with the skin in a v shape) and my incision formed a big keloid. I've had multiple doctors tell me that he sewed my up idiotically and that I should sue. The office never called me once to ask how my incision was healing and when i called them to ask about the pathology report they said "The pathology says it was not cancerous but it could have been, we are so glad you came in". I was in such trauma after the removal that I dissociated from my body and could not look at the scar or touch it for years. About 6-7 yrs later as the trauma was subsiding, i was curious to have my medical records released. In the medical records not only does it state that the freckle was 0.5mm in size, which did not make sense to create a 5x3 inch incision, but there was also an email conversation recorded between Dr Magid and my old dermatologist agreeing that the scrape test was inconclusive but they should remove it anyway. I am convinced that this was malpractice and that Dr Magid was just taking advantage of a really good insurance plan I had. I looked into perusing legal action but CA has a 5 yr statute of limitations.
He is very patient and listens very carefully. He answers all my questions and helps me make decisions.
I had a basil cell and when he took it off it didn’t hurt I would highly highly recommend going to him for skin cancers he is the best in Santa Cruz
I'm brand new to the area and broke out in a huge autoimmune rash that needs to be biopsied ASAP. I'm incredibly ill and new to the area. I was hoping to be able to get in quickly because this rash is gonna be a very easy way to probably figure out what is going on with me (it's been a 7 yr journey and has left me fighting for my life). Anyhow, Dr back home tells me to get into a dermatologist ASAP so I start calling around. Called here to set up an appointment to see ANY Dr or PA, etc., and get rash biopsied because I have to catch the rash when it's inflamed to get a accurate result. If you know anything about rare diseases and skin you know that often you can get clues from skin conditions but you have to catch it while it is inflamed. I don't have the ability to go to my PCP because I just moved. Well, I took the time out of my day to come here and let you know that the woman answering the phone is the rudest person I've encountered since I moved here. I would NEVER go to this Dr after my interaction with their receptionist. The contempt in her tone is shocking. Her word choice, enunciation and word emphasis was insulting. Why be a receptionist if you're THAT angry of a person? Why work in health care if you don't care about people's lives? Why say you're accepting new patients if you're not? There's some serious issues at this practice. I sure hope they figure them out so other people don't get treated this way.
I highly recommend Dr Magid. He explains everything that gets done. He has a gentle and compassionate demeanor Never in a rush He liste to my concerns and gives me options
Dr. Magid and his team of doctors are honestly the best. I have seen him for so many different ailments and he cures me every time! I literally recommend all my family and friends to him and his practice. So patient, understanding, and has so much knowledge. Definitely in good hands when coming here!
I'm a new patient and couldn't be more thrilled to have 'found' Dr. Maggid. He's a compassionate dermatologist and takes the time to listen to my concerns. I've never felt rushed during an appointment. Great doctor - and staff.
I would have written this earlier, had I known it was here. I have been his Mos surgery patient for at least 10 years, if not more and he has always been very professional, friendly, and never too tired to answer questions and do what needs to be done. He does a very thorough job of inspecting, taking specimens and doing what is necessary to assure my health is not adversely affected by skin cancer. His staff is also (probably, in part, because of his affable personality) very helpful and cheery, prompt and well-meaning in all aspects of medical care. God bless him and the staff!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
