Excellent surgeon! I had a total hip replacement due to avascular necrosis. Poor post op care related to pain management. Not sure if it is a problem with the communication between office staff and DO and PAs. His policy is to get pain medication for 1 week at a time, but it takes 1 week to authorize the refill of the prescription; therefore, there isn't any pain control in between refills, usually for about a week.

Dr. Blackburn has a good reputation as a surgeon and he was there at Marian Hospital when my husband arrived via ambulance with a broken hip. Dr. Blackburn performed successful surgery within a few hours However, since the surgery the follow up appts have been difficult to get. When Blackburn says come back in 6 weeks, the office staff says no appts. available for 10 weeks. This happens every time. Then this last appt. we had to wait over an hour beyond the scheduled time.

Just called again and tried to set an appointment, and once again told me I need to get an extension....... they ask me to get an extension a month ago so I can see the Doctor in Sept....... now I have it, now they are saying I can't see him till December Dr Blackburn came highly recommended, NOT IMPRESSED!

I am in so much pain. My orthopedic surgeon referred me for consult as MRI shows pinched nerve. First available is August. I call every day with not even a call back. I'm seeing red!

Dr. Blackburn seems to be a fine surgeon and good human being. However he seems to have too large of a caseload and I fell through the cracks on a few things related to my knee replacement surgery. I was released on a Friday evening with a prescription for pain. Unfortunately It was so late that my pharmacy was already closed for the night. I was also told a piece of equipment was to be delivered to my home. It never came and according to the company responsible for the delivery it was never ordered. Also my dentist explained that he should have ordered an antibiotic to be taken before any dental appointment... didn't happen. Finally it is a year since my knee surgery and I had a follow-up appointment that had to be rescheduled. They couldn't see me for 2.5 months. That's ridiculous.

Dr BLACKBURN IS THE GUY TO GO TO IF YOU WANT RELIEF FROM PAIN. ..ALSO, THE STAFF IS GREAT...YES, I A FAN.

Front staff and dr.blackburn are amazing. However their xray technician is absolutely rude and unprofessional from start to end. My daughter had xrays done but she only covered her lower half body and not chest area. When we asked why her reply "its standard and not needed." Again I asked why top half was avoided with all organs and tissue there. She completely ignored me says"im done seeing you" and walks out. Avoid getting xrays with the caucasian older lady with shorter blonde hair. She only looks nice. She's a real piece of work that will make you feel uncomfortable, unwelcomed, and angry. Dr. Blackburn was able to answer the question that is your profession.

Staff is extremely nice and helpful! Dr Blackburn was wonderful and helped make my 8yr olds experience very easy and fun! Highly recommended!

Dr. Blackburn is great! Smart, professional, even funny! Did amazing job on my shoulder slap tear repair. I’ll be trying to get in again now that my knee is acting up. Love the staff too!
