After being fed up with not being able to figure out my digestive struggles, I decided to contact SMGastro where I was set up with Dr. Nastaskin. I could immediately tell that he genuinely cares about what he does. From hearing how happy other patients were in the office prior to my appointment, to my first interaction with him, I am thankful he is working with me to find a solution. He put in the time to really hear what I was saying, asked plenty of follow up questions, and I could physically see his notes as we went along. He explained things to me in terms I understood, gave me paper work for a diet plan that would help me, and promptly sent out referrals. On top of all of that, he is very kind and has excellent communication skills. He is restoring my faith in doctors, and I truly appreciate his time and expertise.

I was really freaked out about getting an endoscopy due to another doctor from this practice sending me home for "not following" the approved liquid diet (I did follow it) and that I should have been and be fasting (I was not told to fast). It was very traumatic to say the least. I asked to switched doctors and reschedule and was told Nastaskin was awesome. Well let me just say he is! He has a very calming presence and he made me feel very comfortable. Annie was the anesthesiologist and she was so sweet. Nurse Lana was very gentle and attentive and I really appreciated how well I was treated for this procedure. If you can, go with Nastaskin at this practice he's awesome.

He was very compassionate and listened to what I was telling him. He made a plan and I am much better but still working on understanding my digestive system. Learning what I can eat and what I cannot eat. He was very excited by my progress. Thankfully I changed doctors.

I recently had a colonoscopy by Dr. Nastaskin. I previously went to a doctor in Pismo Beach but his office doesn't run well. The office staff was terrible. My primary doctor referred me to Dr. Nastaskin and I'm so glad he did. The entire process was top notch. While I don't look forward to having a colonoscopy, I have zero complaints about my latest experience. Dr. Nastaskin, his assistants, the office staff, and the Santa Maria surgery center were professional and nice. You all earned my 5-star rating!
