Shane Rostermundt's Online Review Report Card

I took my daughter in to Dr. Rostermundt today, due to a stomach bug (vomiting 5 days apart, etc) lasting 6 days so far, and her normal doctor, Dr. Nunez, was unavailable. The visit went well, I thought, and my 2 yr old daughter loved him. He seemed to reasonably explain why reported symptoms were happening and that it’s just a virus and no tests were needed. Upon leaving, however, he said what I interpreted to be a condescending comment. I am still mulling over it, wondering what he meant, and if i am misconstruing it. He said “you better get out of here before something bad happens” while looking at a staff member. I didn’t think much of it until driving home. Seems he was implying I was overreacting by bringing in my daughter….like I’m such a worry wart that i better get out of there before something bad happens 😱 don’t leave the house, or something bad might happen! Implying i am that ridiculous and overly concerned for bringing her in. Apparently it didn’t register that I told him about our upcoming trip out of the country, and how I wanted to be sure she was covid negative and doesn’t have anything going on while there. Seems reasonable to me. And I waited for 6 days of the present illness to take her in. I feel as if I now need to defend myself and it’s an uncomfortable feeling. I am a surgical nurse, not an idiot, or a worry wart. I simply am concerned and want to ensure my daughter’s safety and health prior to our trip. Sad thing is, until I heard that comment and realized what he meant, I was thinking “i like that doc & so does Madi. Maybe we’ll switch to him!” He reminded me of Ryan Reynolds (a favorite actor of mine) and was genuinely very good with my daughter. If this gets read and i was wrong about the comment that was made, I am all ears to hear the actual meaning behind it, and will gladly take the review down. I actually am a reasonable person, doc 😉

My experience of Dr. Rostermundt has been that on several separate visits he has discounted & brushed off valid concerns that ended up to be serious issues with our child. I do not appreciate being spoken to in a condescending manner especially by a physician who should be working together WITH you to help achieve optimal health, rather than rushing through your concerns and rudely implying that I am overreacting. This may not be everyones experience but I found that he does not take the time to listen or answer legitimate questions. Babies cannot speak for themselves- they rely on us to speak for them and to try and get help to ease their discomfort. Dr. Rostermundt I will NOT apologize for asking questions or advocating on behalf of my child - even if you find it to be a waste of your time. I obviously will not continue to waste MY time or risk my child’s health any longer- and have found another provider who will take the time to listen to our concerns.

So condescending - Dr Rostermundt disregarded all of my My concerns, I had to insist the dr to run a Urine test while he continued to discount my concerns and again made me feel like I was overreacting and “mansplained” to me why I was i shouldn’t be concerned ... turns out I was RIGHT my baby did have a urinary tract infection and needed antibiotics. He didn’t have the decency to call With the results and apologize for his attitude - Dr Rostermundt, If it is SUCH an inconvenience for you to take the time to listen to legitimate concerns from your patients then You, Dr, are in the wrong field - you should become a medical examiner where your patients won’t talk back. I called the same day and will NEVER waste my time or risk my child’s health again for the sake of this Dr.s ego.

Staff was very friendly ,helpful and professional. Makes you feel welcomed and answer your questions. Dr Rostermundt takes time to his patient, explain everything and makes you feel safe. Treats patient with respect.

My son is now 12 years old and has been coming to Dr Rostermoundt all his life. He's been the best dr. thus far. I highly reccomend him.

Awsome Dr. Great with kids!

Dr. Rostermundt is an amazing doctor! My children both trusted him and felt comfortable. He was always patient and willing to discuss any of my concerns. I was bummed to change doctors but the staff is just HORRIBLE!!!! I would call first thing in the morning to get my child to be seen and they would ALWAYS say they have nothing available. Staff was rude and there was always new people.

He's attentive, through and personable
