Stephen Bylsma Md's Online Review Report Card

Asked if I could see Dr. Bylsma for eye check for glasses. Was told "yes" at scheduling. The tech did the entire eye check. Dr. Bylsma came in for a brief min or two, after tech put drops in for eye dilation. HAVE NEVER HAD A TECH DO FULL EXAM BEFORE??? I guess you have to have a problem really to see him. Think I will at least go where I can have an O.D. do eye check next time.

Outstanding Doctor! I've been blessed to have found him years ago. I had a sever eye injury when I was very young and I have seen eye doctors all of my life and he is the best.

Have never had a bad experience until dr. Bylsma. Very dismissive, rude. Not only would he not listen to me, he wouldn't even listen to the assistant in the room, she had to repeat my eye drop prescription to him 3 times, and I still had to show him. His voice is the only one he wants to hear. Completely dismissed me as if I were a child, not someone who's been in the medical field for over 30 years. I just smiled and made my follow up with another doctor.

if you are seeking a doctor to do your cataract surgery, please consider contacting dr. stephen bylsma at elite eye center in santa maria, ca.the facility is spacious and ultra clean. the staff is very friendly and professional. and, most importantly, dr. bylsma is a person who is friendly, tops in his field and is very willing to answer any questions you might have. look him up on the internet. you will find his educational background is outstanding and he has made advancements in his field of ophthalmology.in about one month i went from having cataracts (in both eyes) and very bad astigmatism to having clear vision in both eyes. i had surgery at premier eye center (one eye at a time for the cataracts) and lasik at elite eye center to correct the astigmatism (both eyes at once). i don't have to wear glasses any more!in all the procedures dr. bylsma explained what was going to be taking place and talked to me during the procedures. he made me feel comfortable.this was such an easy, positive experience that i would recommend that you consider dr. bylsma and elite eye center as the people to help you with your cataract surgery.

I had been experiencing halos around lights at night and muted colors. I learned on December 14th that I had cataracts in both eyes. I am a teacher so was off for three weeks and really wanted to get both eyes done in that time. Dr. Bylsma was extremely accommodating and I got one eye done on December 19 and the other on December 27. Boom! Both eyes were done by the first of the year. The surgeries went great. I am so glad I did it. Dr. Bylsma is exact and excellent at what he does. Both eyes are 20/20. Amazing! No more contacts or glasses. Too cool!

The doctor is very good. The office is very bad. My usual co-pay is $20 but they charged me $80 and I'm still arguing with them that I don't owe the money. For that reason, I won't be going back to the clinic wherein he practices. He's a professor at UCLA so does he need the $$??? Nice guy though.

Dr. Bylsma is very thorough, caring, and knowledgeable. He makes accurate, and urgent if necessary, referrals to other doctors.
