List of Fawad Zafar-Khan Md's Reviews
Our hero! When 4 different Nephrologist’s misdiagnosed and put my friend in the hospital twice for months. It was Dr Zafar-khan who came to the ER at midnight in person and changed the mistakes in dialysis that the previous doctors had caused!!He caught their mistakes and even showed up at dialysis the next week at 4:30am to make sure all was safe!! Who does that?! No one but an angel!!! We hold deepest gratitude that our prayers were answered!! Gratefully, Moriah
My husband went to see him recently with some really intense symptoms (fever, pain, sweating, etc) and Dr. Zafar-Khan told him he had Covid...told him, before testing that he had covid. My husband had done multiple tests to know he didn't, did an antigen test and it was negative. My husband had Typhus, which is incredibly serious, and this Dr disregarded ANY other option other than it being covid. this could have been very dangerous. Thank God he went to another Dr. who just asked where we lived and ordered a Typhus test, or we would still be trying to figure out what was going on. This is a VERY irresponsible thing to do to a patient, Dr. Zafar-Khan. You have a responsibility to your patients to look at all options.
I was referred to him through my job, I had to a get a medical for work which is attached to my driver license. This medical is very important and has to be turned into the DMV. He messed up on my paperwork dates which I found out after waiting two and a half hours at the DMV. The DMV was nice enough to give me the fax number so he can fix his mistake. After calling to get the paperwork with the correct dates faxed. He took over an hour to fax It in ! I’m actually still waiting at the DMV now since I have time I decided to take the time to write this review. The customer service is horrible and my time is being wasted! Please go elsewhere if you value your time or good customer service! I unfortunately I didn’t have a choice in the matter, if you do AVOID AVOID AVOID!
I selected Dr. Zafar-Khan as my primary care doctor from my health insurance website after switching to a new insurance company. The selection process online went without issue. A little over a month later, I scheduled an appoint to see the doctor and went in on the appointment day. The woman at the front greeted me and asked for my insurance card and ID as expected. I handed everything over to her and then watched as she stared at my insurance card for a long moment. She asked me if I was referred to Dr. Zafar-Khan. I told her no, and that I had selected him as my primary care doctor from my insurance website. She did not believe me and said the doctor's name was not on my insurance card (there was just the name of my coverage network on it). I told her that previous cards that were mailed to me had his name on it but this was the most recent card. The woman then told me they wouldn't see me today because of the fact I couldn't prove he was my doctor. I asked her if she could just call/contact the insurance company and confirm. She then tells me she won't do that. They don't call insurance companies. Okay, fine. I'll call the insurance myself and ask the representative to confirm that Dr. Zafar-Khan is my primary doctor. I eventually get an insurance rep on the line and the rep kindly confirms that Dr. Zafar-Khan is my assigned primary care doctor. The woman at the front desk refuses to talk directly to the insurance rep even though I have the representative on the phone RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. What the hell!? She says to tell the rep to fax over proof of coverage. I relay the message and the rep says it would take hours. Doesn't help me much since I'm already at the doctor's office and can't wait that long. So, I didn't even get to see the doctor one time because of his incredibly unhelpful staff. I hate to review a doctor on such a thing, but a doctor chooses his staff. The staff person sitting at the front check-in desk seemed to be actively trying to keep me from being seen by the doctor. I won't even try to schedule another appointment. This experience with his staff is enough to tell me I would dread getting seen by him in the future anyway. And as an aside, this is one of the many reasons why I am so frustrated and often upset by our healthcare system. It's broken. People should not have to jump through numerous hoops and deal with poorly managed systems just to see a doctor.

He saved my husbands life.He is very respectful of all of his patients but his office staff is awful the maybe nice but they need to get jobs that they are willing to do.Still I would recommend him to my friends and family just do not trust his staff to do anything which involves your wellbeing(health, life )
Dr Fawad seems fine so far, he's a new doctor of mine. However his staff is horrible! (Bridgette) tells you to hold and then hangs up on you. You call back she has she hold for another 5 minutes... just to tell you to "call back!". I've called back three times now just to get a referral ... she can't leave a message, or post a sticky note!... Nope .she's getting paid and she just tells you to call back! Good grief! So if you have an emergency and need a referral... It might take a few weeks just to make contact with the right person. If they aren't there they say "Call Back!" - what kind of business does this?? Especially in the medical field where gettign a referral in time and seeing the appropriate doctor could be life and death!
On my recent stay at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Dr. Zafar-Khan was the doctor on duty which I believe was his duty to check the vitals, etc. of his patients. His actions when checking my vitals were insulting, tapping three times on my chest with his stethoscope, not allowing any time to listen to any vital signs, then proceeded to check both legs, which all he did was pinch the socks that I was wearing. This also occurred the day before. I will be reporting this doctor to the Medical Board for his immoral bedside manner.
this man saved my life ...he is a great doctor
It's obvious that Dr. Zafer-Khan truly cares about his patients. He is one of a kind and highly recommended.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
