Santa Monica Fertility's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Jain has retired and this practice has now been acquired by Pinnacle. Completely different service and level of care.

As a client of this facility, it saddens me to say the customer service has been pretty substandard and the customer experience completely disappointing. We were required to pay for services in full upfront in August 2023. To date, almost nothing has occurred - no substantive testing, no transfer, no cycle. The staff only respond by email through their portal. If you call in wanting to speak to someone, the receptionist takes down your name, but then no one actually calls you back. We had some testing done in early January as part of the process. 22 days later and we've haven't heard about the results of the testing or the meaning of those results. The staff seem to be very passive and ill-informed. As an example, when we asked when the results of a test would be available, the facility's representative told us we should have them already and to simply check the medical portal, when in fact such information hadn't even been reviewed, authorized, or released by the doctor. We waited an additional 10 days, and still didn't receive any information on our testing. When we explained our concerns and pleaded with them to improve our experience, the staff merely gave lip service asking to schedule a time to talk. But when we tried to schedule that time, of course, no one responded or called back. I would warn others to go somewhere else. We're stuck with this facility, but if you have other choices please consider them because you want a good partnership with people who actually care about your journey to creating a family, not a facility that employs passive people who simply don't care about meeting your needs.

One of a kind in LA and possibly globally. We miss Dr Jain but Dr Vasquez is brilliant, caring, and explains everything - and the nurses are also amazing. So much hoping this practice doesn't change too much in Dr Jain's retirement, it's a truly special place for which we're incredibly grateful.

I'm incredibly grateful that I found Dr Jain and chose Santa Monica Fertility for my egg retrieval. After decades of being in this line of work, Dr. Jain is somebody that has never forgotten his "why". He truly cares for the successful outcomes of his patients and has a supportive, passionate, efficient, detail oriented, and kind team behind him to make it happen: Claudia, Crystal, Dr. Vasquez, Gabriela Madrigal, Veronica (I apologize to anybody I'm forgetting) were all absolutely lovely to work with, and I can't thank them enough for how meticulous and caring they were throughout my several rounds of treatment. For those that are considering the process, it is truly a mix of art and science, and even then, there is a lot of luck and genetics involved. When I did my due diligence of clinics in the Los Angeles area, I knew that if there was anybody that I would trust for that combination, it was Dr. Jain, and I was right. Regardless of my outcome, I have the absolute confidence that Dr Jain and his team did everything that was within their power to maximize the result for me. The rest was up to my body, and that is the hard truth of any fertility treatment that must be accepted. Everyone choose this clinic, now. We looked into the 'top' clinics in the country and we chose Santa Monica and thank God we did. They are comforting, joyful, scientific, accommodating, and we now have a beautiful 3 day old, perfect baby. From their egg donors, to their doctors, nurses, lab, etc. Perfection. Don't think about it, just call them. We are the happiest parents in the world. Thank you Santa Monica.

I was in the process of becoming a surrogate and I started this process in October 2022. In May 2023 I traveled down to Santa Monica from Marin County to complete the transfer. The clinic (Santa Monica Fertility, Pinnacle Surrogacy and Pinnacle Fertility) put me up in a motel near the clinic the night before the transfer. It was dark, dingy and noisy. I let my coordinator know that it was not the type of place I'd like to stay for multiple nights on bed rest and I got a different hotel for the next night. 20 minutes before my transfer appointment I received a call from the clinic (Sarah) telling me the transfer is canceled because I didn't get enough rest. I was so shocked and upset. I went to the clinic anyway and asked to talk to the Dr face to face (John Jain). His only reason he could give me for canceling the transfer was that he said I didn't get good rest. I told him I was fine and asked if he would take my vitals if he felt I was unfit medically.. he refused. I also asked for something in writing explaining why I was being turned away and he also refused. This was the most egotistical person I've ever met. He took such offense to me not liking the accommodations that he canceled it all.... I can't even imagine how the intended parents felt! I was so heartbroken and distraught. I cried for days. I had been building up to this point for at least 7 months just to be shut down at the transfer. And he expected me to do all the injections and hormones all over again!!! Absolute insanity. Luckily I was able to get out of my surrogacy contract, no one expected me to trust him with my body after that experience.

My experience with Santa Monica Fertility is absolutely horrible. I don't live in California so I have to travel there to get the transfers. Both are failures. The nurse doesn't want to take our calls. It was aways emails. All they did is estradiol and progesterone. Nothing special or specific to my older age. The estradiol dosage was so huge that my skin started to form thousands of bumps. My last one was a chemical pregnancy. The nurse said " what did you do?!" It was like it's all my fault. The was nothing I could do to change a chemical pregnancy don't you know that! There's no sympathy but blaming the patient for the result. (By the way, the nurse didn't even show up for our transfer.) We spent a fortune on their so called "premiere package". Feel like being scammed! I spent $3000 my own money on the ultrasound total alone. But they didn't even check my ultrasound images for my last cycle. They never told us that I had fibroids. We are so regret that we went Santa Monica Fertility for our treatment.

Dr Jain, I remember you told me "oh, let's wait until you get your baby" when I told you that you were my hero after you did my embryo transfer. You still are my hero . I struggled for so many years with my endometriosis, poor egg quality exacerbated by my advanced maternal age,, you did a simple protocol on me that worked. You saved me thousands of dollars by not recommending to see an RI to run all of the blood work that would not have benefited me because your philosophy is simplicity and to let the body do its thing and it worked. Well. It's what we do when we are desperate. So far I'm early. 12 weeks in two days of writing this review to you. My NIPs came back negative for Trisomy disorders . My NT scan showed a fold of 0.8 mm. I hope my son will come home in November. Yes, you're very matter of fact, honest, frank, straightforward. Humble and to the point . I personally love this approach! Donor eggs are hard to find for my ethnicity and I found it from SMF. I jumped on it fast and Dr Jain can be accommodating within reason to ensure he helps increases your odds of success . Dr, Vasquez is soooo awesome! She's so patient , caring, and she explains what's going on. I LOVE her! She's the obgyn there. Nurse Gaby and all are great (Brooke and Veronica) : they are always available to email you back. I appreciate your staff. There were a few times I lost patience with getting paperwork done or getting the day 7 embryology report was late and communication was slow but they do their best. Shefalee was also helpful and Gabriella the former coordinator was also helpful . Dr Jain--Thank you for your purpose for being here of service to women around the world for trying to build their families. I do hope this pregnancy progresses into live birth. I do have 6 untested embryos left but although it would be nice to see you, it would be nice to not have to see you (heheh!) just to restart the transfer all over again because I would rather be home raising my son that you helped me grow and to move on with life and never look back to the needles and prodding and anxious waiting(I'm still anxiously waiting!) Thank you and to your staff.

Santa Monica Fertility has some of the best choices of egg donors, hands down. They are also very helpful and provide great customer service! Gabriella, the manager, is super knowledgeable and awesome to work with. I consider their agency top-notch.
