Been coming here on and off for a few years. Would not recommend. Doctors here are apathetic at best. Their billing is horrendous - you'll get random charges from their partners and it's on you to deal with. Wait time can be long as well - last time waited 20 min past my appointment time.
With several decades of experience, as an impatient patient, I feel qualified to judge the quality of my health care providers. I've also learned that in life one almost always needs to qualify their judgments and opinions, with the phrase, "so far".In my 16 years living in L.A., I had not found a primary care doc who I felt was a keeper. A few months ago I asked a neighbor if he knew of someone and he recommended Dr. Patricia Y. Chang, who practices family medicine at UCLA.Dr. Chang has been at UCLA for around 5 years and practiced in Canada for around 20 years prior. I believe her Canadian training is beneficial to her patients, as Canada seems to be superior, in training physicians to understand and treat the whole person. In the roughly 3 months and 3 visits I've had with Dr. Chang, I am convinced that she is top notch, as a physician, and, no less importantly, as a person. Dr. Chang is extremely knowledgeable, a great listener, responsive (i.e., between visits) and caring. She also understands how all our systems (body and mind) are connected. In listening to my medical history, Dr. Chang identified a relatively rare issue, which no one has ever thought of or explored and very few would."So far", I expect that Dr. Patricia Y. Chang will be one of the best physicians I have ever consulted.
Grazie a tutti voi!
If you are looking for a family primary care doctor. I recommend Dr. Theresa Poulos at the UCLA Wilshire Clinic. Dr. Poulos has extensive experience and knowledge for treating your basic medical needs - chronic illness management- to properly diagnosing your most complex medical anomalies. Her bedside manner is suburb. Dr. Poulos welcomes and treats the entire LGBT community and related needs. She is always on time and treats her patients with personalized care and genuine concern. Dr. Poulos has been my primary care provider for over 2 years and I've never felt more comfortable with a doctor. This location is clean and thoroughly sanitized and the staff abides by all Covid 19 standards of care. This clinic is located at the intersection of 12th & Wilshire. Some meter parking is available outside plus there is adequate underground garage parking at a flat $10 rate for 4 hours.

I've been seeing the doctors at this office for a long time, since they were practicing at Santa Monica Bay Physicians. Long before the enormous corporate conglomerate called UCLA Health took over. My review is not for the doctors themselves, but for the UCLA Health organization.I've come to believe that UCLA Health is more of a profit-generating machine than it is a "healthCARE provider." The practice has become more and more automated - we patients are told it's for our convenience, but in my experience it's anything but convenient and sometimes erroneous, like the automated messages I keep getting for flu shot reminders (I had my flu shot months ago at this office, yet the reminders keep coming!). We are told the UCLA MyChart app is for our convenience, but it keeps wasting my time. In its messaging system, we are misled to believe we can "ask a question". Regardless of what my question is, the canned response is always "make an appointment." In other words, "please help us bill your insurance company $800 for 10 minutes time"! And don't even get me started on the dozens of hours I've spent haggling over billing issues. The doctors seem care about the patients, and maybe some of the staff does too. But clearly the UCLA Health organization does not. The goal of their primary care approach seems to be treat every patient with a one-size-fits-all approach, to avoid all curiosity whatsoever in looking at the patient's individual circumstances and issues, and to get the patient in and out as quickly as possible and collect as many copays as they can.I've begun to look elsewhere for a more-human, less-assembly-line approach to healthcare.
No good. Dr. Gregor here is likely to make you worse physically and mentally. Unless you need some straight forward care (flu shots, band aids lol, or deadly pills) he will not be of assistance in bettering your health or long term life longevity. Find a different Dr! You have been warned. His "specialist" colleagues are just as bad.
Dr. Chang is absolutely amazing and the whole staff was very friendly and helpful during my last visit. I recommend her without question.Being new to her practice, she spent a lot of time with me getting to know my medical history but also me personally. She's clearly been doing this a long time, as she's very knowledgeable and knows exactly what she's doing. Throughout the examination, she talked through all of her steps, so I'd know what was coming up and gave a thorough explanation of everything. Dr. Chang is a great doctor and made me feel very at ease, although I don't usually find doctors visits stressful. Overall, I had a great experience with my appointment. All of the staff were friendly and everything went smoothly and efficiently; I never had to wait for long. Their facilities are clean and modern, and there wasn't anything I thought was lacking throughout the entire appointment. I'm so glad I found this practice, as I feel confident that I'm in good hands.
This was an experience I have never had before. Dr. Chang is AM-AH-ZING and she will always be my Dr. now. SO glad I found her!!!! She is so kind and thorough and I just appreciate everything about her and the way she went about my physical. She asks questions, isn't condescending, rushed or bothered like SO MANY other UCLA Dr.'s seem to be now. Thankfully, all of those other Dr.'s are gone from this group and it's safe to go back! They actually made me not come for my physicals for years... because they were that horrible, but now I have found Patricia Chang! Gem Dr. of UCLA 12th Street! She's awesome in every Dr. way you can imagine. The front office is great too. I waited 5 minutes, was smiled at and had some friendly conversation which almost never happens anymore. Back office was amazing too. Medical Assistant who took like 6 vials of blood was LIKE THE BEST EVER and I think his name was L.U.I.S. (the magic needle man). FELT NOTHING!! So, if you're a complete baby with needles like I am (I'm a phlebotomist's nightmare), this office is worth your appointment just on this guy alone!
Everyone who works in this office is completely incompetent and if I could give them zero stars I would. They've processed my insurance claims incorrectly multiple times, cancelled appointments without warning, and have zero compassion for patients and their problems. Everything I have been billed for should be covered by my insurance but because of their blatant disregard for my insurance's specific need for referrals and processes in place I have been bill upwards of $1000 for routine appointments that my insurance covers. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to spend hours on the phone with them and your insurance fixing UCLA's mistakes that they will not take responsibility for.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
