List of William G. Buxton's Reviews
Dr. William Buxton, I feel Dr. Buxton is compassionate, he has the best bed side manor, he listens! I feel like blessed to have him as my Neurologist! I highly recommend him and his staff.
I am so impressed with the care Dr. Buxton gave me. I went in for a neurologic issue and one of the MRIs showed a spot on a kidney. He took the time to call the radiologist and seamlessly arranged the follow up imaging I needed to rule things out. I didn't even have to go to another specialist. This type of holistic care is so hard to find. I've had 2 MRIs and an ultrasound under his care, and each time, he sends me a note to set my mind at ease within hours of the test-- today he did it on a Saturday afternoon. He also is a non-alarmist and thoughtful in his approach. I know he thought about my visit after I left and added some testing to be thorough. He provides an unusually high level of service and care. I am a doctor snob and do extensive homework selecting any doctor. Dr. Buxton is on my A list.
I have been a patient of Dr. Buxton for some time now. Having suffered a debilitating condition has really put things into perspective and Dr. Buxton has been absolutely fantastic. From the start he has been an exemplar of his profession. Upon meeting him I immediately felt and observed his compassion, his empathy. I have had terrible experiences with doctors the past few years so it was refreshing to be treated by someone who actually cared for my wellbeing and did not posses a glib demeanor. Dr. Buxton has been the strongest advocate for my health and recovery and was the first begin to ascertain my condition and took steps to treat it. I am very thankful for his service as is my family. His office staff, Richa, Kathleen and Maylin have been great at answering questions and making sure necessary paperwork, etc. is completed promptly. Thanks again!

After my life being turned upside down six months ago, as I developed some unknown condition, a long chain of many different doctors finally led me to Dr. Buxton. He is one of the few doctors I have seen him really endeavored to figure out what was Underlying my condition. He has been thoughtful contemplative and very helpful. He has always been kind and compassionate and remembers my history well. All I still don't have a concrete diagnosis it makes such a difference to have a kind physician.
Dr. Buxton is outstanding. He goes to the mat, even contacting my other doctors if he feels it is important to my care. He responds quickly to emails (I don't use MyChart) and fits me in for urgent matters. I usually don't try to go through his staff except to make appointments, but they are very helpful if I explain any need for urgency. In that case a patient should ask to be overbooked if his schedule is full and staff will then ask him what to do. Works for any doctor.
Dr. Buxton is outstanding. He has managed my condition very well and I've been happy with his care. HOWEVER, it is next to impossible to get in to see him. If you have an acute/urgent issue, forget about it. His office will say with a smile that they'll try to fit you in for the next available opening/cancellation... but that's not going to be for at least 6-8 weeks - likely more. You have to make routine visits at least 3-4 months in advance of when he wants to see you.
Dr. Buxton would get many more than 5 stars from me. He has been my neurologist since 2007 and has been there for me beyond what I have ever imagined a doctor would be. I suffered a brain malformation and went through years of seizures and different medications. He was available to me with a human caring partnership that helped save my life. He is now in the Westwood office of UCLA. A brilliant scientific doctor with a heart of gold.
I really can't say enough about Dr. Buxton. I hadn't seen him in over a year when my cluster headaches returned on a recent Monday morning. With of my medications expired I needed refills fast. As with my past experiences- Dr. Buxton's staff are still under par. No one answered the phone and I was forced to leave a VM. I then emailed Dr. Buxton and received a reply (and updated prescriptions) within about 12 hours. Thank you again.
It took me couple of days 2-3hours each to try reach the doctor by phone and it never happened.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
