I have never received better care. Dr. Schakel took the time to clearly outline my options; both surgical and non surgical. He presented the research, his experience, and his opinion on how I should move forward, without making me feel pressured to choose his way. I felt supported and respected. His repair of my achilles was excellent and his suturing clean and beautiful. His team is absolutely stellar & compassionate. Highly recommed.

Exceptional interactions with Dr. Schakel. I felt very personally cared for. My achilles rupture was a frightening injury to have at 50 years old. Dr. Schakel performed a great surgery and managed my recovery expertly. As I write this, 7 months later, my leg is in great shape. I'm not favoring it at all and it feels very strong. When I went into physical therapy the first time, the therapist commented that the healing appeared to be 2 weeks farther along than it actually was. I credit this to not only the surgery, but his insistence that I follow his post surgery instructions to the letter. I did and couldn't be happier.

. Dr. Schakel is a godsend. He’s a very patient person who genuinely cares about his patients. He always takes the time to explain things to me in terms that I can understand. He’s diligent in making sure my health is the best it can be. His assistant Pam is wonderful too and they make the best team. I have had about 5 surgeries now with feet and knee and I would recommend Dr. Schakel to anyone seeking a kind, compassionate, and brilliant doctor!

Dr. Schakel was amazing! On our 1st appointment he was able to figure out what was wrong with my foot after months of swelling & pain. He recommended surgery that went very successfully. I’m hoping to make a full recovery. So far everything is healing the way it should. I should have saw him months ago. He was the best! I would highly recommend him for any foot or ankle problems

Dr. Schakel is a miracle worker.. After two prior surgeries from two different doctors on my foot and toes and still being a lot of pain I was reluctant to have my foot operated on again. Dr Schakel did a lot of work on my foot and toes and 2 years later I am still without pain. I got my life back and I can wear any shoes I want. Prior to having my work done by Dr. Schakel I was only able to wear tennis shoes. I am so grateful for the work Dr Schakel did. Because of him I got my life back.

Dr. Mark Schakel is an amazing orthopedic surgeon. I have required three surgeries and each time I have utilized him as my surgeon. I would not go to anyone else. And the surgery center was so professional! It made my surgery so much less stressful to be in such an organized and dedicated facility.
