List of Childrens Physicians Medical Group's Reviews
We've only been for wellness visits, which are fine, but I've had a real issue with getting anyone on the phone when I have a question or need to request information. I'm waiting on the phone right now and as I write this I have been waiting on hold for 20 minutes and counting. I have two phones on hold right now. This isn't the first time this has happened to me. It is the third time and I've been with this practice since we moved here 8 months ago. It seems they want to direct all inquiries and concerns to their mychart or online portal, which just isn't good enough when I need to talk to someone faster than 3 business days. This is a real change from our pediatrician practice we cam from. We were able to speak to someone on the phone immediately every time we called and had immediate callbacks when needed. This is a real let down. I am moving my children to a different more responsive practice. As I end this message, I'm still holding at 25 minutes and no one has picked up to acknowledge my call... Ridiculous. I don't know how to get ahold of anyone to say my kid had a positive antigen covid test and probably shouldn't be going to his wellness exam tomorrow and can I reschedule or what do they suggest as next steps. Now 27 minutes and no one has picked up...We've only been for wellness visits, which are fine, but I've had a real issue with getting anyone on the phone when I have a question or need to request information. Amazing experience! The nurses, the doctor (Dr. Fink--so sweet!), and everyone else was so great. Tagged along with my sister and nephew as support since he gets shy and scared, but the second we walked in he loved it there, way more than the previous pediatrics he used to go to. Great bedside manner, very understanding, and caring. Highly recommend scheduling a visit for your little one!
Nice people. However, I took my 8 y.o. dtr there in August for a high fever of 4 days. They sent me home with a "a cold" diagnosis and Tylenol. "If the fever continues come back."Went home happy that it was a cold and not coronavirus. Even though nobody tested her. Guess what? Two days later I got the fevers too and It Was Covid +. My dtr missed the first 20 days on school!Nice people. However, I took my 8 y.o. dtr there in August for a high fever of 4 days. They sent me home with a "a cold" diagnosis and Tylenol. If you want to wait on hold for an hour just to make an appointment this place is perfect for you. Wait times in office have increased too. We had to wait an hour to be seen with one baby and one toddler. Service here has gotten pretty bad the past 5 or so months. Short staffed and unreliable.

I changed pediatricians from the Alvarado location to here and I regret that decision. I couldn't make it to my daughters checkup due to the fact that I was working and could not leave so my husband went instead. When he brought our daughter, one of the nurses/doctor asked "where is mom" and made unnecessary comments about how they would not let their husbands take their kids to the doctor visits alone and making it seem like I was a bad mom for letting him take our daughter by himself. Which made my husband not want to take her anymore since they made him feel very UNCOMFORTABLE. This was around the time the pandemic was really hitting families and I was the only one working providing for my family. I believe what they said to him was very unprofessional, and comments like that should have been kept to themselves.
Dr Mangine and her office crew are absolutely amazing. Both our daughters go to her. Our youngest, who is now 6 1/2 months, has a rare disease and was very sick just after birth. Dr Mangines quick actions and knowledge of this disease I truly believe saved our daughters life. She got the treatment she needed and she's now thriving better then we expected. We are sad to leave, we are moving out of state. Thank you so much for the care you have given our girls and for taking the time to answer all our questions. We would recommend this office to everyone!!
Normally, I would have said I had a great experience with this office. The care for my child was solid and I believed the doctor genuinely seemed to care about our well-being. However, after our four-month visit, I received a bill for the "Caregiver Health Risk Assessment Score Doctor Standard Instrument". Basically, at some point in the appointment, the doctor asked me if I was depressed and then billed ME for it. I called my insurance. The rep told me she was seeing this trend more recently. It is very rarely covered and offices know this. She called the office to have it reviewed. I followed up with Children's and they are still charging me because the office confirmed they had "treated me" AKA verbally asked me if I was suffering from PPD. I do not remember giving my consent to be treated (or billed), that's why I go to MY doctor. While the care for my child was good, I'm changing pediatricians before I get more bills. Pandemic parenthood is challenging enough without practices like this.
Dr. Fink has been wonderful! As a new and first time mommy, she helps me understand milestones and is very understanding with my choice to delay/deny vaccinations. My son and I love her! The staff is always super friendly and welcoming as well!
Dr. Mangine is great with my daughter. She is always super caring, informative, and answers all of my questions. She never makes us feel rushed which is super important for me. The whole staff is very friendly as well!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
