Sandra Shefrin's Online Review Report Card

At first I was impressed that Dr. Shefrin took notes in our initial session. She also spent an hour with me. She finished by saying "it's a lot to digest" and we scheduled a follow up. Unfortunately, in our follow up session it became clear she had not digested anything I'd said; in fact it seemed she'd forgotten who I was and was frantically trying to review the test results I'd sent her and maybe her notes while we spoke. I found it disrespectful. I'm a healthcare professional and I ALWAYS review the patient notes BEFORE the session. She was also late. She also wasted time by going over a health questionnaire with me that I could have done before the session, and this mirrored the first session during which she spent time getting my insurance info when this is something her staff is supposed to do! I ended up not having enough time to ask all my questions. It seemed at times that she was reciting things from a textbook or template. A lot of people think medicine is related to science, but actually medicine is based on dogma, which is the opposite of science. I need a doctor who thinks like a scientist and Dr. Shefrin is not the one. At the end of our session she asked if I wanted to schedule a follow up. We wouldn't need to schedule a follow up if Dr. Shefrin had been more organized. Or maybe what looks like disorganization is a way to stretch out the sessions to schedule endless follow ups.

I have a patient of Dr. Shefrin's for more than a decade but ever since she moved offices the service has been deplorable.I have been trying to get the office to renew a prescription for my mother for seven days since my parents are housebound and I take care of them. I have been calling their office and Cvs for seven days and evidently they gave they never updated Cvs with your new office number order new phone number so they have been sending the request to a bogus nonworking number.I shouldn't have to drive down after having seven surgeries this year when I'm supposed to be in bed to CVS to find out the Dr. Shefrin's office can't even do one of their primary jobs which is to update the pharmacies in which they interact.Absolutely terrible service I'm leaving the practice.

Very helpful with my medical issues. Got me in for my visit very quickly which was nice.

Dr. Shefrin is an great help for all of our Marin patients. She gets all of our urgent patients seen quickly and always makes herself available to discuss complex patients even on weekends. She has extensive experience in neurology, especially Parkinson's disease. We are grateful to have her in our community!

This doctor is very unprofessional. I called as a courtesy to advise her company was being spoofed by a company in India pretending to be them. She screamed at me on the phone and started bragging how she was a board certified doctor and hung up on me. When I tried to call back she continued to hang up. I was finally able to leave a message advising she need to protect her patients. If you are one of them you may want reconsider as she doesn't have HIPPA ethics at all.

Dr. Shefrin is seriously amazing. I came with my mom to her appointment with her. I have never had a doctor spend so much time with us, listening  patiently and answering all of our questions. I didn't think that happened anymore. We came to her for a second opinion and she came up with some new treatment ideas for my mom's parkinson's. We are so thankful to have found a doctor like her!

I saw Dr. Shefrin for some headaches I was having. I didn’t feel rushed during the visit, she spent a lot of time asking me information and answering my questions also. I felt so comfortable with her, she was so easy to talk to and I now have some options for treating my headaches. I highly recommend Dr. Shefrin!!!
