List of Tony Giannotti's Reviews
1) I wasn't expecting to be seen by a student. Most of the tasks were done by a student. The Dr. did a general review. Refraction was done by the student. Students services are free elsewhere, and the Dr. reviews. Here, they charge physician fees for a service provided by a student. That’s not proper practice. 2) Very old office, chairs, and equipment. 3) Front desk staff was rude and unpleasant.
The reception staff was kind and efficient. The doctor was terrific and professional--this review is not about the staff but about the scheduling issues and policy. Once again we have another medical office that has no respect for appointment times. I arrived 20 minutes early (per their suggestion), checked in and now have waited for 30 minutes after the set appointment time. Unfortunately too many medical offices find this acceptable as a matter of course. This was also a problem at the Millburn office for years. There was a dramatic and welcome change when they had to schedule appointments during the early pandemic, they would see you within minutes of appointment time. This was respectful of the client's time and the staff's time as well. Now it seems that we are back to the old ways. It has been proven that you can honor actual appointment times through scheduling and allowing some buffer time in case of exceptional cases. The facility itself is run-down and dated. It seems that maintenance is a low priority. Chipped paint, stained floors, fake plants covered with thick dust, filthy windows are just a few of the things that were obvious. This office was established in 1991 and it hasn't been updated since. A few buckets of paint and a major scheduling overhaul could resolve these issues.
Dr Majmudar is excellent! I feel so lucky to have found her. She truly listens and works with you as a patient, with patience, to find the best solution for you personally. She has a wonderful bedside manner, and is a kind person, aside from being a good doctor. 10/5 stars!
FYI - We are reporting this organization to the Better Business Bureau for wrong billing practices and then using collection agency and then even when told that billing was their mistake - putting it on the credit. We are going to go all the way through the legal system etc as such businesses are a menace to the society are completely exposed. My kids and wife have been going to this place for years for routing eye exam. Little did we know that for years they had been using the wrong billing system- for routing eye care, they had been billing our medical company instead. And when we pointed out the problem to their front desk - they claimed they dont work with their billing system. And when we spoke to the billing system, they feigned ignorance and referred to collection. We explained to collection who verfiied that we had proper insurance and that it was their billing group who was making te mistake. They tried submitting the info to the right insurance and because they had to do it within a specific time frame after the visit, they again started to make it our problem. We told them clearly it was their mistake. And they opted to put collection on the credit report to ensure that customer feels the pain. Such businesses's billing system are menace to the society and should nt be allowed to function as is, especially if they make their mistakes somebody else's.
I almost never review places, but I had a very bad experience here. I gave both the insurances that I have and was vocal that I wanted a routine eye exam which is covered 100% by one of my insurances, but later I was billed for specialist copays. I was told that Hudson Eye Physicians and Surgeons (HEPS) didn't use the billing code for routine eye exams despite us being very clear when we made the appointments and when we arrived at our appointments that we were there only for a routine eye exam. The excuse that was given to me was that I was a glaucoma suspect. This is something I have known for years and was not diagnosed by their ophthalmologist. HEPS did not treat my dry eye condition. All I received was basically a routine eye exam. However, when I called to ask why they were billing me, the lady on the phone told me that if I had any pre-existing conditions, it is not considered a routine eye exam, even if they did not diagnose or treat the condition or do anything beyond a routine eye exam, and she mentioned multiple times that the doctor asked if it's okay and that is up to the patient to say yes or no to check a concern, even though I was very vocal about wanting to come in for just a routine eye exam. When they mentioned that refraction would be $60 out of pocket because I wanted to just have the routine eye exam I said No, however I was not given any indication from the doctor that instead of a routine eye exam that it would be changed to a medical visit.
Very Bad. My wife had an appointment for Friday March 18th at 3:20pm. Arrived at 3:25 pm. Everything was closed with no notice or anything. There were people inside but nobody came to the door. What a joke
Dr. Brahma great dr. But staff over there not help full , I did call multiple times about my parents Rx ( Precision ) copy to email, fax or mail to us .. been waiting for there more then 2 months , I told them we moved so we can’t stop by still waiting..!! after I called again for reminding them yesterday they said they will email to me after 5 pm it’s more then 24 Hr. Still waiting..!! I feel so Terrible I try to help my parents for new glasses she lost her glasses but I Can’t..!!
Absolutely unprofessional, booked an appointment long time back for my father and they sent thousands of emails of confirmation, and then one day before calls me and inform that the doctor doesn’t take last appointments, what nonsense is that. Educate the people who takes appointments. People rely on the given appointments.
Staff was very caring and helpful. Doctor was very caring and helped me to be calm and relaxed.
I almost never review places, but I had a very bad experience here. My husband and I went in for routine eye exams which are covered 100% by our insurance Aetna, but months later we were billed for specialist copays. I was told that Hudson Eye Physicians and Surgeons (HEPS) didn't use the billing code for routine eye exams despite us being very clear when we made the appointments and when we arrived at our appointments that we were there only for a routine eye exam. The excuse that was given to me was that I had dry eyes. This is something I have known for years and was not diagnosed by their ophthalmologist. In fact, I disclosed it to them in the form they made us fill out before our eye exam, which turned out to be a big mistake. HEPS did not treat my dry eye condition. All I received was basically a routine eye exam. However, when I called to ask why they were billing me, the lady on the phone told me that if I had any pre-existing conditions beyond myopia, it is not considered a routine eye exam, even if they did not diagnose or treat the condition or do anything beyond a routine eye exam. I still haven't found out why they billed my husband extra as well. Honestly I feel like this place is very predatory and just out to get a few extra bucks, which is unfortunately all too common. I just really wanna find an honest establishment and go there forever and never deal with such things again argh.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
