My mom had a stroke in 2021. My step dad and I took care of her until 2024 when her mobility became so compromised we just couldn't do it anymore. I wanted to find a place that was not an institutional warehouse of the elderly and thankfully found it at Be Well Senior Living on Varna Ave. They take wonderful care of her and we see her everyday as we try to keep her integrated in our family. She has a private room with a view of trees, roses and gardenias. Also, they cater to her special diet (no gluten or diary due to seizures) so I don't have to worry (this is a nightmare in other facilities). There are always at least 2 caregivers, sometimes 3 who are wonderful - patient and kind when my mom can be a handful at times. There is a maximum of 5 other residents so she can be social if she is so inclined. Russ & Elina are wonderful to work with! Through the entire process of finding my mom a suitable place, they were understanding, patient and answered all of my questions. They keep us informed of any changes or issues that arise and are fantastic resources for my mom. For example, my mom needed a haircut and they recommended Stacey Harris. She then became my mom's massage therapist and friend. Sometimes, my mom plays bingo with Elina's son, who is such a charming young man. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing to find care for a loved one, Be Well Senior Living is the best you will find!
Moving my mother out of a corporate memory care facility to Be Well Senior Living has been a wonderful and life changing experience. It’s like visiting her in a beautiful, real home, with extremely attentive and kind caregivers who know my mother’s every need, and strive to meet them with patience and dignity. It’s been such a peaceful environment for my mother, with a lovely outdoor area for her to enjoy whenever she chooses. Her nutrition needs are well met and she’s happily fed all day, but has managed to maintain a more healthy weight and lifestyle than in a more institutional setting, with personalized shopping and menus available to her at all times. Alina and Russ have been available and responsive to any and all concerns, and I feel my mother is well cared for and looked after at all times. I highly recommend Be Well Senior Living.
My mother recently passed away. She was 104 years old. For the past several years, she resided in a residential board-and-care facility owned and operated by Be Well Senior Living. As my mother advanced in her years, she became wheelchair-bound, requiring constant care and attention. The crew at this facility provided the most amazing care. Several staff were always on duty, during both waking hours and at night. They treated residents like their own. They truly cared. They were constantly attentive, and kept up with my mother’s medical care and prescriptions. They pre-arranged periodic onsite medical care for the residents. They cooked, cleaned and provided a spotless facility. They cooked wonderful fresh meals daily. Never did I feel that my mother was being ignored. There was constant verbal interaction between staff and residents. They took care of the residents’ personal care needs around the clock. They sat with, and assisted, the residents during meals to ensure that they were properly fed. They spoke with each and all the residents. They treated the residents as if they were their own parents. I believe that this facility was largely responsible for prolonging my mother’s life. I cannot recommend it enough. I cannot imagine better care and treatment for the elderly. I feel blessed to have been able to have my mother spend her last years with Be Well Senior Living." Finally, I am grateful to Be Well’s principals - Ruslan Melnikov and Elina Root - who were always available and always engaged.
My mother has been at Be Well for about 5 years. We looked at a lot of care facilities and continue to believe the care here is excellent. I stop by weekly. We feel very lucky to have found Rus & Elina and are appreciative of the care, attention, and communication they and their staff provide. The home is light and bright with lots of windows and natural light. It has been a relief to know my mother is in good hands.
Very caring and compassionate staff.
My mother has been here two and a half years. This home is better than most. The owners are conscientious and committed to the well-being of all its residents. The caregiver staff are dedicated, experienced and compassionate. They are flexible and adjust to each of the residents changing needs. The home is always clean and the meals are nutritious. I highly recommend this home for your loved one.
This place was amazing. They took tremendous care of my mother, Judye Brown, who was in her seventies. My mom died on 4/20/22 at the age of 77, and the caregivers and staff at the home were wonderful to the very end. They treated me, my dad, and my sister like family. I highly recommend this board and care.
I knew that eventually my Mom would need to move into assisted living. I began casually looking a few years ago, but only at the big facilities because I didn't know there were other options. My Mother had a medical emergency in April of 2019, and after her stay in the hospital, she was moved to a skilled nursing facility for 10 days. The counselor there recommended that we look at Board and Care facilities because they are smaller and have more of a home setting, not a hotel or hospital feel. My Mom has dementia and I was worried about her waking up and not knowing where she was. We looked at 10 different Board and Care facilities and most of them were very nice. What sold us on Be Well was that the home was bright, airy, uncluttered, and smelled really clean (not antiseptic but fresh). The staff was lovely. Russ and Elena were warm, caring and knowledgable and the neighborhood was also lovely. It had all of the elements that I knew my Mom would love. When we brought her into the house for the first time, she was really impressed. She loved the furniture and how bright and open the house is. When I drive her through the neighborhood, she loves looking at all of the beautiful houses and gardens, especially the roses. I can rest easy because I know she's happy and feels like she's in a home not a facility and because I know she's being looked after. I get text messages from Lisa if she ever notices anything different in my Mom's sleeping, or eating patterns or if she sees any skin irritations, etc... They deal with her moods and her resistance to showering calmly, with tremendous patience, and kindness. My Mom is safe, well fed, well cared for, and happy. She feels better then she has in years thanks to the loving people at Be Well.
My wife is a resident at their Varna St. facility. The place is spacious, she has a very nice room, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Great place!

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
