List of Richard E Nussbaum's Reviews
I give Nussbaum ZERO stars. He’s been my “treating physician” for 11 months. During this time, I’ve found his general disposition to be grumpy, impatient, and unpleasant. His bedside manner is horrible, which is to say it is nonexistent. When posed with questions, he uses a “hit and run” tactic stating his thoughts whilst briskly exiting the examination room never allowing this patient to retort. I really wanted to like him, but his lack of empathy and decorum makes me go the other direction. He appears to be in his 80’s and should retire as soon as possible. His service to the public as a physician, has long since past...

This office moves really smoothly, and the Doctor always sees you pretty close to the exact minute of your appointment time. Dr. Nussbaum saw me to go over low back (lumbar spine and sacrum) MRIs. The results did not explain my immobility, pins and needles, or pain. He performed a few tests on me. He suggested a cervical spine MRI and a thoracic spine MRI, which FINALLY revealed the physical cause of my immobility!!! I've been searching for FIVE YEARS! The Doctor was calm, comforting, quick, and thoroughly explained the surgical procedure I require for treatment. I was in a bit of shock, so I'll likely ask some more questions prior to surgery. I do get the impression of a completely qualified, informed, and professional experience each time I enter this facility. And I truly appreciate it. ***The RNs and surgical coordinators are so sweet and make me feel so comfortable and safe.
I am very unhappy with my 2 visits with dr Nussbaum. At first he examined me fully, he never said anything what’s wrong, I’ve been suffering from pain, didn’t tell me anything. No professional ethics at all.No compassion to patients who are in pain. My second visit he made me wait for almost 2 hours because The CT scan result was missing . He never explained what’s wrong, he just referred me to pain management. I am a professional health care worker also, I deserve to be treated right. I don’t recommend him to anyone.

I've been a patient of Dr. Nussbaum since 1996, now retired and living in Texas, I still fly in once a year for my follow up appointments because he's just that good 👍.
He did my L4 and L5 fusion surgery and laminectomy at Tarzana hospital. I am very happy and start feeling better right away. Before I couldn’t walk or sleep and left leg used to fall in sleep also had back pain. Now I don’t have any pain and walk normal. Thanks Dr. At Tarzana hospital all the stuff was very nice to me.
Good service despite waiting a long time to be seen!
Excellent, well reasoned advice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
