I want to let you know how bad the owner was in handling issues that arose while we worked with the owner of Heartland Home Care. First, let me say that we were very satisfied with 2 of the 5 caretakers that were provided. One lady was so shy she would hide in the next room and peek at my mom. She was afraid of her. She could not prepare pudding to be made from the package or cook an over-easy egg. Yes, my mom was difficult. One woman was exceptional and my mom loved her. There was one other that was good also. I gave John the schedule of shifts that we needed to be covered for 3 weeks in advance and unfortunately, he only saw the upcoming week. Instead of checking with us on what our needs were when that week ran out, he did not send someone to cover the shift leaving us stranded. This happened on Thanksgiving night and again 1 week later. He totally ghosted us when we were trying to find out what happened. He would not answer his phone or text messages from the 3 of us. After the 2nd time, I requested a sit-down meeting and he refused to meet with me saying he was off for the Holiday. It is HIS business and he does not take any accountability for his shortcomings and I wanted to make sure it is known for the future that others can avoid the added and unnecessary stress on an already stressful event.

I am so glad to have met Don from Heartland Home Health. I was doing my due diligence to find the care for my loved one and found Heatland checked all my boxes. Their caregivers are vetted and certified with background checks. Pricing was competitive. They are able to monitor the medication and offer reminders. Shop, cook meals, help with personal care and light exercise. All the things I worry about. But what will make my loved one happiest is to have a kind companion to visit with daily. Thank You Heartland I know my loved one is safe with you!!!
