List of Sansum Clinic's Reviews
We have been waiting 2.5 months on final results on a brain tumor scan. The radiologist compared his most recent scan to a scan 10 years ago even tho there are several recent ones at UCSF. It took a month for them to gather all the scans and we still have not heard any results even tho we call weekly. Highly do not recomend this doctor/ facility.
I felt my medical experience at the Sansum Country Clinic in Solvang was very professional, positive and beneficial! Dr. Billington listened to my medical concerns, shared some medical expertise she had acquired, and then, she referred me to some amazing specialists to get the medical attention that I required... Also, the reception area was very warm & inviting... even had a fireplace, helping to create ambiance, so you didn’t feel like you were in a boring & sterile medical setting😃😃😃
unable to get someone on the phone even after a loooong wait on the phone......and when answered, we were unable to get any information with regards where we should go to get tested for the covid19 virus - they had no clue of where to send me....unbeleivable - where was i supposed to go but to my own doctor's office?!?!....
I love the fact that I don't have to go to Santa Barbara or up to Lompoc just to see my primary care Dr. Plus the staff that work here are always really helpful and fast!
Literally the worst ever, none of the receptionist know anything about prices or availability, I was on hold for 30 minutes just to hear "I don't know" to all of my questions, fire them and hire new people.
With the closing of Sansum in Lompoc and my longtime primary care physician leaving the area, my wife and I were forced to find new medical care - I tough move for seniors. After several less than satisfactory visits to local doctors, we decided to try Solvang. We made appointments with Sansum Country Clinic and, although the appointments were a long time out (many others from Lompoc had similar experiences apparently), once we visited the clinic we found the staff friendly and helpful. The wait in the office was not long. Dr Cai is particularly warm and professional. He thoroughly reviewed each of our records, ordered needed exams, and attended to our concerns. All in all, it was as pleasant experience as one can have at a doctor's office.
I made an appointment in February of this year and could only get seen in June. They called me the day of the appointment to cancel and said I couldn't see another male doctor till March of 2020. I tried to stay loyal to Sansum, but they didn't stay loyal to me!
If I could give a negative star I would!Younger Blonde at the desk was rude and didn't even offer a greeting. We were sent there from our insurance and this young lady expected us to know they couldn't help us! Unfriendly, rude and not helpful!
My wife and I dropped Dr. Billington as primary care physician after 3 unfortunate occurrences. First, she misdiagnosed and prescribed serious medication when it was not needed. Second, she failed to respond to an emergency phone call for assistance, which led to a medical emergency, helicopter evacuation and hospital stay. Third, she managed time poorly and was habitually late for appointments, even at the beginning of the day.
I was looking forward to seeing Dr. Miguel Loya, however after being passed around for more than 20 minutes, and no one could give me an approximate cost or cost coding for a first time visit. Instead I was told it all depends on what the doctor decides to code it as. Awesome, so next time I go to a restaurant my waiter will charge me for filet mignon even though I ordered a burger. I find that completely ridiculous and unprofessional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
