We, at Sequoia Senior Solutions, have provided care to patients side by side with Hospice by the Bay for many years. More recently, we worked closely with Social Worker Kiara Lee. I was impressed by her compassionate attitude towards her patients and family members. Family members often need as much support as their loved one and, in more than one instance, Kiara was present, caring, non judgmental and resourceful. I could tell that she was very much appreciated by the patients' families.
I was fortunate to be able to work with the team from Hospice by the Bay in my mother's last weeks. The compassion and diligence shown to my mom was nothing short of outstanding. They were always a phone call away whether it was to give me advice when needed or just to listen to my anxiety ridden need for comforting words to help me navigate those times when I needed to hear them. It is with eternal gratitude that I thank those Angel's for their due diligence and soothing words to my Mom in her last days. The team are truly a remarkable group of people who I will never forget. Thank you ALL for your kindness and understanding in taking care of my Mom. She lived a long and interesting life before passing at the age of 98. ♥️🙏
Fantastic care, Fantastic helpful employees! My 88 year old Father required Hospice care. Nurse Molly, and Social worker Andrea did the initial home visit, Dr. Kessler prescribed the meds, and Nurse "Penny" & Andrea made a follow-up visit. All very professional, and helpful! (Sorry if I have any names wrong). My seasoned R.N. wife was Very impressed with everyone as well! Thank you ALL so much for your needed help! We will be praying for your wisdom on how to "negotiate" with my 85 year old Mom.
The hospice team was absolutely amazing taking care of my mother in July of 2019. I've never met a more caring group of health professionals. When we decided to take my mother home from the hospital I had no idea how we could make it happen. The team showed up and made sure my mother was comfortable and cared for during her final days. And she had her wish of going home to be with her family and friends. Thanks to the Sonoma Hospice team!
Never would choose them, not enough staff, no help when needed etc.In the past it was known for its outstanding service. Well that changed.
This has been the worst experience ever with my Mom being on this Hospice by the Bay, Sonoma. They seem to be short staffed. It takes 2 -3 days to have anyone call you back if you have a question or concern. Yes they send the nurses out, but since I do not live with my Mom it would be nice to have someone to answer questions. I would not suggest anyone signing up with them. They cannot handle the caseload they already have.I have heard that Memorial Hospice is great in Santa Rosa.
Many people have great experiences with hospice but that is not the case in for us, with end of life care for both my Dad in 2008 and currently my Mom. There is absolutely no urgency to providing the necessary care. They are there to write prescriptions for pain that may or may not work, and you administer care. My mom had a change of condition this morning, unable to keep any meds down and is in an extreme amount of pain. It has taken 9 phone calls in 2 hours to just get confirmation that someone is indeed being sent out. Nurses cannot provide the same services as nurses in a hospital, such as IV to administer meds. We had a nurse incorrectly change my mom's catheter which was extremely unsettling for us all. Extremely disorganized and unprofessional. My family found hospice to be very unsupportive, incompetent and challenging to work with.
I can't begin to say what a wonderful help this organization was to our family. The nurses were so kind and caring. Someone was here almost every day to help with the care of my husband. He was very comfortable with them. I can't thank them enough.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
