List of City Of Hope South Pasadena's Reviews
I am currently in the waiting room typing this review, if I don't do it now I will not do it later. My dad is a patient here and we were having some issues with scheduling and getting through to the office. My dad was already extremely nervous coming to city of hope, but who wouldn't be, right. We arrived for his appointment and there was an issue with him being rescheduled to another doctor but no one told us or called to tell us why they made the change. I took the day off to bring my dad in and overall it was just looking like we were starting off in a negative way with city of hope. the receptionist called her manager to help look into this issue. The managers name is Lydia Becerra and both my dad and me could not have been more happy that we had Ms. Lydia to help us out. She immediately started looking into what happened with the appointment. What my dad and I noticed in that moment was, not only did Ms. Lydia show her concern but you could feel that she genuinely cared and had concern with what was happening. She looked up my dads case and contacted the original doctor he was supposed to see and she explained to the doctor what happened, thanks to Ms. Lydia my dad was seen on the spot! Afterwards, Ms. Lydia gave us her business card with all her information so that we could contact her directly with any questions. not only was Ms. Lydia kind and attentive, she just has this very calming and beautiful presence. If city of hope has more people like Ms. Lydia working here, our journey here will be a great one. The staff is also pretty awesome, we look forward to meeting the doctor next.
Wonderful place. Had a horrible experience elsewhere. But here the doctors, nurses and staff treat you like a human being not just a case. They seem to truly care about what you’re going through. The fear I had has diminished with their positive attitude no doom and gloom I love all of them
I had an incredibly positive experience at City of Hope Cancer Research Hospital in South Pasadena during my mom's battle with breast cancer at the age of 75. The staff at this specific facility, especially Dr. Schultz-Costello and Dr. Yeon, demonstrated exceptional thoroughness in reviewing the results, ensuring that every detail was explained comprehensively. City of Hope provided a language virtual interpreting service, enabling detailed explanations in Korean for my mom, who did not speak English. Their compassion towards my mom and our family was evident, taking the necessary time without rushing or making us feel hurried. The overall experience was not only professional but also surprisingly pleasant. We are grateful for the care and attention we received. Communication, both directly by doctors and through assistants, nurses, and receptionists, was exceptional. I highly commend them and recommend City of Hope South Pasadena, especially for those who may have had negative experiences elsewhere or felt ignored by doctors. City of Hope isn't just focused on curing cancer; it also emphasizes empathy and sympathy towards both patients and their families, navigating this challenging time together as a team. They demonstrated flexibility in scheduling chemotherapy and radiation for my mom. During her mastectomy, our surgeon collaborated with a plastic surgeon to achieve the best possible result. This collaborative approach proved critical, as my aunt recently underwent mastectomy in a poorly rated Los Angeles hospital. Comparatively, my mom's surgery result was phenomenal, with significantly fewer scarring and cosmetic issues. Kudos to City of Hope South Pasadena.
Dr. Feng and her nutritionist Jaqui have helped me get my blood sugar under control. I have never in my life as a diabetic (16 years) have had it this under control. Type 1 diabetes was such a devastating diagnoses. I fell into deep depression and her and her staff really helped me get my life back. I owe it all to them. I am eternally grateful.
The best crew ever saved my life Doctor paz and Doctor shen 👍🙏
This office has been wonderful! My endocrinologist, Dr Karen Tsai is absolutely amazing. She will be hard on me, but I am hardheaded being chronically ill my entire life, and just not taking my own illness as serious as I should have, she saved my life with my thyroid! After going to several hospitals, and being told that everything was normal, she got all my labs polled from those hospitals and found out that at one of them they didn't even run my labs and the others there was no way they could've even been my labs! It was impossible for my thyroid, stimulating hormone, or TSH to go from normal, say between 1 to 5 to 187.310 with my T4 unreadable, meaning that my thyroid was completely shut down. It had paralyzed my intestines, causing a severe blockage and nearly killed me! She made sure that I knew to take my medication, exactly as she says, irregardless of what they say at the hospital! She is right! The gastroenterologist Dr. Singh knew that I was will beyond anything they could do with me Gastroenterology wise that I needed to see the motility team at UCLA emergence, but being a hepatologist as well he immediately focused on my liver, which I thought was OK... I've had hepatitis C, since I was a child. But I have not had any effects from it for years since my liver appeared to heal itself, I didn't think it needed to be bothered with... my ascites was gone. It wasn't even showing up fatty, and I was on the liver transplant. List at one point with my ammonia levels so high that I was in and out of consciousness, but had healed. Somehow I believe in God, Again he was right! He ordered genotyping and verified that I did have more than one genotype. I did not know that it was possible to have type 1A and an unknown genotype the last time I was tested. These people are thorough! So, apparently, there is a medication that can totally cure my Hepatitis and not make me sick! These doctors are sharp, and I trust them with my life! I have yet to see urology they are located in a separate office, but I have a good feeling that they can cure my neurogenic bladder, or at least get it functioning better. I have several rare and chronic progressive illnesses, and they were very knowledgeable about everything! I am sticking with every doctor I can with City Of Hope.
I have been coming here for years. The doctors are excellent. Thank you for supporting and listening to me when I need the most.
The worst experience ever!! Please stay away from doctor Paz!!! Don't go there Worst
My mom was a cancer patient and treated here. The infusion staff was so warm and friendly that my mom felt like they were family. They made every effort to make her visits as comfortable as possible. Dr. Tina Wang provided excellent care for my mother, listening to all her concerns and treating her with respect. My mom felt like she was an active participant in guiding her course of care. Her experience at City of Hope South Pasadena was much better than over at the City of Hope Duarte campus. Duarte was extremely busy and they did not exhibit the same level of care and compassion. If you have to choose between the two locations, South Pasadena is much calmer (plus they have free parking).
I have been coming here for lynch Syndrome for years. The doctors are excellent. Very professional and caring.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
