Cheryl Vu's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Vu was my OBGYN when throughout my pregnancy about 4 years ago now. I was happy with her at the first the second trimesters. I found that she was very kind and patient. Since it was my first pregnancy, I was very worried during the fist trimester because I heard too many miscarriage stories. I was not scheduled for ultrasounds for some of the visits, but she sensed my fear so she showed me baby's heartbeat using the ultrasound. She's also very straight forward, like cut out caffeine completely vs. some doctors might say a cup a day would be ok. She also tried answering my messages online herself, in some cases she even called me in the evening just to make sure I was mentally and physically ok. She never rushed me during the visits, which I appreciated. Now, why only 3-star? Because of the third trimester and labor experience. She was mostly out of the office during my third trimester. I was getting calls to reschedule or schedule with different OBGYN or NP. To me, I was very disappointed because that's the time I needed her the most. I was finally able to see her at the last two visits before labor. She suggested induce labor since I was already at my 39th week. I asked what her schedules look like, she told me that she would be at the labor hospital floor on Monday as on-duty doctor. So I said let's do the labor induce that Monday because I wanted her to be there for me. Long story short, I was in labor for 4 days, they tried everything but my baby was just too comfortable and not wanting to come out. I was seen by so many different doctors and nurses, I lost track who was who. Dr. Vu only came to see me on day one twice, said she was going to come back but she never did, didn't even care to say bye before she left for the day. On day three, the nurses told me that she was there that day but didn't come visit me once. On day four, Dr. Anderson was on duty and I wished that she was my OBGYM since day one. Dr. Anderson was very caring, she understood how stressful I was and she came back to check on me every hour. I ended up having a C-section on day 4 and no, it wasn't performed by Dr. Vu. I did go back to see Dr. Vu for a few more check-ups. While she's still kind and understanding when you do see her, I wouldn't say I recommend Dr. Vu for being a pregnancy OBGYN.

She attended me when I gave birth to my daughter, about 15y ago. I didn't have a good experience with her. As I was giving birth, she never spoke to me, she chit-chat with the nurse as if I didn't existed. And then, all of a sudden, she cut me, episiotomy, never told me she was going to do that. I don't think it was needed, because I arrived to the hospital pretty advance in the delivery. 2 years before given birth to my daughter, I had given birth to my son, with minimal anesthesia, and no episiotomy. Until now, I still belief it was an unnecessary procedure. Do they get paid more for doing it?... I didn't have a good experience and it seems I am not the only one.

Not a doctor for first time moms. Has very little to say and if you don't know the questions to ask she'll not bring anything up. I'm sure she's highly competent but I need someone who's a communicator.

I have never seen a doctor who is so indifferent towards a patient in pain. I was in so much pain towards the end of my pregnancy and she ignored me so much, I decided that I did not want her during my delivery. Later, I had problems with breastfeeding and once again she ignored me for a month. The pain became unbearable, I finally had a chance to reach another doctor while in tears. She treated me immediately. I do not recommend her.

Dr. Vu has been my OB for both my 1st and 2nd baby. She's someone I can always rely on for help and support in all OB related questions. She's also a very kind, pleasant person, always smiling. I loved having her.

Dr Vu is always late and appointments get canceled frequently. I have seen her on an issue multiple times, she never seem attentive or take it seriously and act in a perfunctory manner. I gave one star only because Yelp cannot give 0 star.

She only provide short answers and that is only if you have questions. She never explains conditions or what is being done. She would just come in look at chart, says you are good and leave. If you have a problem, she would just say it and it is your responsibility to ask questions and get the condition clarified. She barely answers your concerns.

She both did not discuss it or get consent, nor did she explain what she had done afterwards, which led to a higher risk of further complications. I would not have consented to the procedure. Recommendation: do not see Dr Cheryl Vu, or go to the PAMF clinic she works at, as they tend to switch your doctor out at the last minute.

Doctor Vu is absolutely amazing! I'm 26, and don't want children. She actually listened to my side and didn't just turn me down after seeing how young I was. She removed my fallopian tubes last March and everything went smoothly. I couldn't be happier and I highly recommend her!
