List of Kimberly Kanada's Reviews
Dont allow her to do a biopsy without asking for them to identify the pathogen. Two biopsies later and I do not even know what kind of bacteria we are supposed to be treating or if it is even bacteria.
Dr. Kanada is excellent. Really competent and knowledgeable in her field. She resolved a rash on my arm previously with a spot on diagnosis and prescription over a video call about 3 months ago. Saw her again today for a new issue and she gave me a detailed diagnosis and practical solution again. Not rushed and very pleasant.

I had gone to multiple doctors to try to determine what was wrong, and she was the only one who figured it out. In a second instance, there were patches on my skin, asked the appropriate questions, did a test, found the problem, and the medication was covered (she was mindful of that also which was nice). There are issues getting appointments, but that is true for the entire dermatology department at Sutter Health. If you look at the medical care and NOT the system, there is no other score than 5 stars.Note: it took a long time to get the first appointment, but once I was a patient, I contacted her with a new spot on my shoulder, and after sending a picture, she saw me right away.
Several weeks later, I still have bumps and rashes popping up, some in new places. Antibiotic lotion does not work and I have many scars from the lesions. The hole left in my butt is turning into a keloid, along with a couple of other places.
She did a biopsy on two different places (one was my butt), only to tell me that it was folliculitis, but she did not bother to ask them to find the pathogen! So, the stitch comes off my butt the next day and leaves a hole. Then, she prescribes an antibiotic lotion, but does not even know if it is bacteria in the first place.
Dr. Kanada was professional kind knowledgeable and very skillful at biopsying a questionable lesion that I had on my head. What I liked best about her is that she is efficient. I did not have to wait more than 10 minutes. Previous dermatologists that Ive had have kept me waiting longer than an hour. That is such a waste of a persons time and the most inconsiderate thing.
I took my son for a follow-up appointment with this dermatologist and I want to reiterate that she is kind, extremely knowledgeable, and professional. She and her staff are efficient and on-time because they understand that people's time is of utmost importance. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Kanada removed several seborrheic keratosis growths that I had. I've had them removed by two other dermatologists in years past and they always grew back. So far, the ones she removed have not grown back (its been many months). I like her because she is efficient, skillful and smart. She was aware of and understood my other medical conditions whereas other dermatologists never cared nor were interested. The best thing about her is that I did not have to wait more than 5 minutes to see her. SHE WORKS ON SCHEDULE and does not keep people waiting. She is considerate of other people's time.
I've seen Dr. Kanada a few times. The care was fine - she's knowledgeable and made some correct diagnoses, although the treatment wasn't always effective. She's better than some other dermatologists I've seen in terms of taking the time to sit, make eye contact and not seem so rushed. However, for a very brief (5-7 minute) and low-complexity appointment the charge is over $200 for the office visit and extra for any procedure done (total over $430!). I feel this office significantly overcharges for the level of care delivered.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
