List of Melanie Klein's Reviews
Updated on Dec 5th:After we left the review, Social Care Team contacted us immediately and we discussed our concern. After internal reviewing, they are going to waive the fee for us and send some documents to us to let us know what can discuss during the pediatrician visit. Will update once receive the new billing (waiving the fee) and the extra documents.
I took my teenage daughter for a yearly check-up, and during this routine examination, Dr. Klein suggested that at the same visit my daughter gets her first dose of HPV vaccine without mentioning any possible side effects. Instead, she handed me two pages of fine print about the vaccine. Trusting Dr. Klein's judgment, I agreed for my daughter to get the HPV vaccine. Then Dr. Klein exited the room, and a nurse came in, administered the vaccine to my daughter while she was sitting on the edge of an examination bed, and promptly exited the room. It turns out HPV vaccine is known for strong side effects, one of them being nausea. So, not that surprisingly, about 30 seconds after getting the vaccine, my daughter fainted, fell on the floor and cut her chin on some equipment that was laying on the floor for no good reason. She ended up being taken to the emergency room to get stiches.Obviously, the way Dr. Klein and her nurse performed this vaccination was not the way it should be performed. Healthy kids that come for a yearly check-up should not end up in the emergency room!I filed a complaint with Sutter Health/Palo Alto Medical Foundation (Dr. Klein's employer) very next day asking for assurance that this would never happen again to any other kid under their care. After 6 months of silence, Sutter Health/PAMF sent me a formal response that said: "After a thorough review of your concerns, we found no deficiency in the clinical care provided."This shows that Sutter Health in general and Palo Alto Medical Foundation in particular are completely not interested in preventing this kind of mishap from happening. Do not expect that organization to take care of you and your family with your best interest in mind. Unfortunately, this also means that as long Dr. Klein works within this organization, you can not expect that from her, neither.
Dr. Klein was my daughter's pediatrician since she was a baby. She was carrying. However, her medicine is highly controlled by her bosses at Sutter so she can't practice freely; she can't recommend treatment that is best for your child. I told her to only vaccinate my 15 year old with meningitis vaccine as it was the only mandatory for school. She didn't honor my request and injected her with HPV as well. One of both of these caused her to have intermittent heart problems and mensuration problems for over 2 years
We have two girls that have both seen Dr. Klein since birth. She's very practical and thorough. Great at giving patient information. Everyone at PAMF Sunnyvale Pediatrics is really good, but we're very partial to Dr. Klein--she is just so great with our two little ones and just naturally strikes the right balance in terms of how much and what kind of information to give us. I can't think of anyone else we'd rather have looking out for our daughters.
Excellent Dr. She is been our pediatrician for 13 years! My kids love her so much!!!! Im very satisfied and if i have another child, im definitely choosing Dr Klein
My family and I are very thankful to have visited Dr. Klein and had her do a check up for my child. We were nervous, but she gave lots of helpful tips and recommendations for my family. I like how she listened to our concerns as parents, and gave great expert opinions on follow up tips. She took her time, and we didn't feel rushed at all.
I was a little bit nervous about meeting a new pediatrician since my 18 month old HATES the check ups. Well, We met her and my 3 yo told me after the visit "Mommy, She is my favorite doctor! I love her!" and my 18 month was also really relax with her, let it her do the check ups with no crying. So yes! I totally recommend her! Also the staff and nurses where really nice!
My 3 kids go to the doctor. She is patient with us, and never rushes things thru. Always good to see her come in with smile.
We absolutely love Dr. Klein! My best friend has been taking her son to Dr. Klein for 12 years and when she found out I was pregnant, made sure I would be seeing Dr. Klein for my son. Now we have been going to her for 15 months and she is awesome. She definitely takes her time with patients and answers any questions. She is very thorough and very upfront.
I have never done a review on Yelp before but I felt it was important to do one about Dr. Klein. She has been my oldest daughters Dr. since 2012 and my youngest Dr. Since 3/2015. My oldest was very straight forward and she was so great. My youngest was a little more special. She has what is called Microtia Atresia to her right ear. Which basically means she doesn't have a ear on that side or a hole for the cannel and can't hear out of one ear. We didn't know about it until the day she was born. Dr. Klein came into our room (just a day old) and already set up a plan for her. The minute she heard about her she did her research and contacted specialist to learn more and come up with a plan. She didn't have to do that but she did and she made us feel like they had everything under control. She is the type of doctor that is prepared and does whatever it takes to find a cause. I love that if she is on the fence she will do the test anyway just to make sure. I love her to death. We moved and I had to finally change doctors (I would travel 2.5 hours just to keep her) but with my youngest having to go in often for "ear checks" I needed to change. If you want a doctor who cares, who is proactive, and actually researches and talks to other doctors to come up with the right plan she is the one. She is one of the best doctors I been to and with my little one who needed extra doctors I have seen a lot.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
