List of Stephen T Lee's Reviews
I had some severe billing issues with this business even long after finishing my time as a patient. All issues I'm dealing with right now below stemmed from just 1 appointment 18 months ago, so I recommend against even trying this provider just one time to see how you like it.1. I received and paid in full a bill for treatment within a month of my appointment. 18 months later the bill was modified with a higher price and they are trying to collect it.2. The original and new bills include codes for services I did not receive, notably electrical stimulation therapy.3. I was billed for at least 67 minutes of work despite it being a 60-minute appointment slot that started 5 minutes late. (From what I can tell on how coding timed procedures work, they claim doing anywhere from 67 to 123 minutes of work in this 55-minute interval). My HDHP insurance company rejected some of this, but it's not clear how much and someone paying out-of-pocket physical therapy would not have this advantage.4. They are refusing to acknowledge the unreasonable billing in (2) and (3) such as by reducing the original bill. They are instead threatening to send the new, higher bill in (1) to collections with a $70 collection fee, 18% annual interest, and potential impact to my credit score / report.Given the size of the bill difference -- The ~$25 I already overpaid them and the additional $25 or so they're asking for 18 months later -- it would be easy for them to eat the cost of what they're claiming was a 18-month-old billing mistake. It's common for businesses even in more cutthroat industries (e.g., restaurants) to eat the cost of their own even-larger mistakes. But instead I've spent 8+ hours researching and communicating with this provider and my insurance agency to untangle the problem.
Danielle is awesome. I had chronic sciatica and she was able to prescribe targeted movements and exercises that cured it. I went from not being able to sit in a chair and being in excruciating pain everyday to going back to normal life and not worrying about it. I also learned the value of continuing to have a routine for stretches even when things got better. She was patient and asked the right questions but also created a safe space for me to really open up about my sciatica. Its all about the people interaction and service and everything was far more than i expected. Most of the PT work relies on the patient to actually be consistent and do the homework but having someone help with accountability helps tremendously and she was able to be that accountability partner.Staff is great and very nice. The only note I have for new patients to be aware of is the Breakthrough phone service. I was brought to voicemail 90% of the time and even though they did call me back, I would of rather been placed on a brief hold. If last minute cancellations or questions came up, being put on voicemail is sub-optimal in my opinion but nonetheless this did not sway me to take away a star.
Therapist was very pushy about me coming in multiple times per week, which is uncomfortable when you are paying out-of-pocket and it is very expensive for every session ($150).
Great attention to deal. Appreciate their free clinics and feedback. Prior to Covid I attended their free clinics. They were very helpful in understanding my body’s weakness and what I needed to do to strengthen those areas.Their clinic does not take my current health insurance but they can work with you to accommodate that. They have been offering the client video meet-ups as well as Covid safe office visits. Office staff have received their vaccines.Highly recommended.Thank you Breakthrough
I had a great experience at Breakthrough with my physical therapist Niyati and was able to make improvement both in my posture as well as my neck pain. Would recommend this place.
Avoid avoid avoid. Do not go here. They are like a factory. They are inexperienced and the front office is rude. They literally just take you in a room talk to you and give you a rubber band and send you home. Go to a real physical therapy place. This is ridiculous.
Great experience so far, amazing staff
I had an amazing experience at breakthrough. Ruchira was very thorough and patient and helped me all the way. The staff at breakthrough were polite and accommodating and always greeted me with a smile
Therapy was actually very good, definately helped me with getting back to my usual routine. I had a shoulder injury that was taking forever to heal and Danielle was able to steer me in the right direction with exercises and suggestions on how to gage weights I use at the gym to avoid irritating injured shoulder while strengthening other mussels that can make up for the weakened shoulder. So I am happy with the result especially given the fact that I was not able to follow up on all recommended exercises due to other, unrelated challenges. Staff is pretty good too, they worked with my insurance and reduced my fees per insurance negotiated rates. But one thing was a bit strange in the beginning I thought I was told they accept my insurance however later it turned out it meant they would try to bill them, but insurance didn't have to pay, whatever that means. Or perhaps I misunderstood something with insurance coverage, ether way it was worth it. One thing i would suggest to change is to make scheduling more flexible and relaxed. This may present challenges in running business efficiently, but still, rescheduling accommodation can be less painful.
Make sure you double-check their "courtesy insurance check." I wound up owing a lot of money for short, mainly conversational sessions.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
