List of Steven Nakajima's Reviews
Dr. Steven Nakajima is one of the best REI. At advanced maternal age, my husband and I were blessed with baby. I had past failed IVF cycles with other provider. But with Stanford and Dr. Steven Nakajima's expertise; we were blessed with baby.
A process like IVF is sure to result in some very extreme reviews, as some families succeed, and some fail; but Dr. Nakajima gave our family a LOT of direct attention, worked closely with us on all of our concerns, and explained what each choice meant, and why he thought we should make one over others. I admit that a part of my 5-stars is that our process was successful, but even before it was I'd recommended him to some friends and coworkers.
I had done 5 embryo transfers with another clinic, so when I came to Dr. Nakajima, he made sure to create a plan tailored to me and my unique circumstances (failed transfers, endometriosis, prior surgeries). He was thorough, attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and never dismissed any concerns I had. After having me do two rounds of egg collection, a mock cycle, and a uterine biopsy, we finally made it to our perfect and painless 6th embryo transfer. When it resulted in a pregnancy, he said slowly, "Enjoy this pregnancy," which really spoke to me. My husband and I repeated those words to each other over and over throughout the journey, when we were feeling anxious or worried. We have an 8 month old AMAZING baby boy and will be going back to Dr. Nakajima when we are ready to make him a brother (all our frozen embryos are boys!).
Yes you are paying more to access to this doctor than other clinics. Yes the supportive staff might not be the most patient/organized/timely. But all of that is truly worth it if you get to have Dr Nakajima as your primary doctor. I had a complicated case with PCOS, unique anatomy and "geriatric" status. He will not cut corners, patiently provide every procedure to truly increase your chances of success at every step of the journey. Happily pregnant and graduated onto a non-fertility OB.
Dr. Nakajima is an excellent doctor. He gave us the peace of mind we needed for our IUI and IVF procedures. Dr. Nakajima provided great insights and always made sure we felt comfortable every step of the way. Thank you for your expertise.
Dr. Nakajima cares his patient, and always provides very productive advice with his profound knowledge and experience.
I appreciated the overall experience with Dr. Nakajima and the Stanford clinic. I has a very slim chance of getting pregnant and I had my world turn upside down with a healthy baby. No unnecessary blood draws, no intra muscular injections and maximum flexibility for a working mom. Dr. Nakajima always answered all my questions and he was very positive from the beginning of my journey. I also had ...
As a single mom by choice, there was a lot on my plate in going through IVF. I'm one of the patients who reads EVERYTHING online and elsewhere and does a lot of research. I was referred to Dr. Nakajima after a doctor I started seeing elsewhere left the practice. A blessing to have gotten to meet and know Dr. Nakajima. It is a shared practice so you do not always get to see your primary doctor but you should make every effort to do so when you can. Dr. Nakajima is a very thorough, detailed and smart doctor. After multiple IVF protocols, I am blessed to have a baby to call my own and from my own eggs(!!). I have not enough good things to say about this man who cares so much about this patients. He and his entire care team (Hi Dorothy!) are just great, the front desk staff too (Hi Pam and Ruby!). The wait time can be improved but frankly it's because they spend time answering patients questions--and when you're that patient, you appreciate the time.
I am now pregnant, and we are happy customers of Dr. Nakajima. Before going in, you should know that they are a group practice, so that means you may not always see your designated doctor for procedures (including IUIs). However, your doctor is always the one you talk to about treatment plan. Our process was delayed in the first few months due to covid, but after we completed the all the tests and necessary procedures, it was fairly smooth. Dr.Nakajima was very supportive and listened to our concerns. He was willing to adjust treatment plan according to our comfort level and situation. The practice is not a private practice, so the level of service can’t be compared to a private practice. They still have to work on improving their processes because they have so many patients, and you have to advocate for yourself at times. The most important thing for us was to get pregnant, and Dr.Nakajima helped us get there. I believe the doctors here are very knowledgeable and capable.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
