No common sense at all. Didn't order blood work for the last annual physical and recommended I can get it done only every 3 years or so,.. Really? Normal lab test that are mandatory should be tested annually ( which are covered by insurance once in a year). This could save many people's life. Why you people are playing with other people's life, energy and money. The free annual exam turned into a $600+ bill. Great way to discourage patients from talking about anything.Ended up having big health issues because of his carelessness. Please listen to the patients and try to understand what they are going through.Sutter health is becaming worst. Now scared to go to the hospital mainly sutter health. For everything ( even annual check up / routine lab work) we will be charged big $$$$ bills. They really don't care for patients anymore. Nearly 16/17 years going only to PAMF, last 4/5 years were the worst.Regretting myself for going to PAMF these many years.
He was kind and helpful. He discussed in detail about my medical situation and helped with right medications. He also directed me to take the needed lab tests and provided the referrals to specialists for further investigation and treatment.
Dr. Tan Nguyen is brilliant and current on treatment.
very dedicated doctor, great personality
I do not recommend Dr Nguyen. He is a nice person, but seems to not have much experience with patient care and I was overall unimpressed with his medical knowledge. Visits felt more formulaic and recited than like a discussion about how to develop a plan for my care. My experience was that if my symptoms didn't fit into a clearly labeled condition he had experience with, he was unwilling or uninterested in further analyzing the problem offering me only shallow attempts to calm my concern of a larger problem and advising me to return if symptoms worsened. I found this extremely off-putting, and as someone with a keen interest in medical topics and who considers themselves fairly in tune with their body, I honestly felt that I was better off reading medical literature on my own than seeing him.
I was assigned to Dr. Nguyen when my previous doctor retired. As a 50+ yr old female, I wasn't sure about seeing a young male doctor. I was so wrong! Dr. Nguyen is deeply respectful of his patients. He listens and discusses options. He ensures that I have the information I need. He follows up. I've been a patient now for almost 3 years and am a big fan! I highly recommend him to my friends.
Nice guy but lacks experience. I went in for 2 different annual exams with him.Last visit: Didn't order blood work for the last annual physical and recommended I get it done bi-annually. Really? There are obvious reasons in my paperwork that would suggest otherwise.First visit: He up-charged me by inputting a different "code" when billing insurance for the annual physical simply because we discussed about my bothersome knee that was giving me grief. The free annual exam turned into a $300+ bill. He ASKED me if there was anything I wanted to talk about and he never warned me about charging me extra. Great way to discourage patients from talking about anything. Not chancing him in 2019. Avoid at all cost if you care about your health.
Read his bio and thought he would be good but he lacks common sense and is straight out of med school and is a rigid, rule-follower. He cannot translate what he learned in med school to patient care. Medicine isn't an exact science and doctors need to be able to analyze. Perhaps he was good in academics in med school but he is clinically poor. His good reviews are for his humanitarianism and leadership, not medical care. He wrote a basic prescription for me with no refills. This is a life-long Rx that I have been taking and there is no reason to have zero refills. He also lacked proper knowledge for easy questions--I often ask questions I know the answer to, just to test their answers. Does he even have an M.D? Terrible, don't trust him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
