I had COVID-19 test in this facility in Dec 2020. COVID-19 testing was okay and I have no complain, but I do not recommend this facility if you are planning to submit your cost to the insurance. The care facility refused to accept my insurance (BlueCross) even though the facility was listed in the insurance website. I didn't think twice because this place was near my home and I thought I can submit a claim and get reimbursed. It turns out a nightmare. The facility initially did not provide a properly itemized receipt missing various informations required for an insurance claim (TAX ID, procedure code, and diagnostic code). I've called and asked for those information, but they answered no. I've submitted the claim and it was rejected due to missing information in Jan 2021.I contacted the facility again and they provided another itemized receipt. This time they provided procedure code, but still lacks TAX ID and diagnostic code. I've asked again to the people at the desk but again rejected to provide those information. I've talked to an insurance claim officer and they says it will be rejected.I understand this is a small facility and may not want to deal with insurance claims. But I do not understand why they do not cooperate nor not able to provide proper forms for an insurance claim. Why make the patient life harder? This is my neighborhood, and I don't think I will ever visit this place again.

Bien
They will take your name and let you come back, so you dont need to wait in line for 2 hrs like most places. For covid rapid testing.
This place is horrible! As soon you walk in the receptionist don’t even greet you, yet tells you to wait outside. As you wait and wait, no one comes out or tells you anything else. When I asked about the wait time (after 15 min ) she was extremely rude! She told me “Go to another urgent care”; it’s really rude and unprofessional to speak like that to your patients.Beware! Don't go there!
Took too long 4.5 hours to be exact.
Very helpful
Friendly staff. Wait time was so long
They were nice I guess
Money grubbing opportunists! Waited 1.5 hours in line BEFORE they opened and was denied at the door bc I wanted the regular COVID test. Claiming they offer the insurance covered tests but they were already booked(?!). The line was very long and only for rapid tests. The doctor will only see people who are willing to pay the $125 for the rapid test or $200 for the other. Its businesses like this that exploit the pandemic and squeeze out the people who really need it. I will file a complaint with the medical board.
Dr. Newman is very attentive. The staff is helpful and courteous. The waiting area is very clean. I highly recommend this urgent care!
Great service and doctors
Edit: They sent and called me with my results, apparently I had put down my husbands phone number instead of mine...I have never done that before...so that was good and I appreciated that. And the Dr. called later and was very nice. I wish they would have charged the $125 but I filed an Insurance claim on my own.I went here to get a Covid test, I called first and they said I didnt need an appointment. I asked for the PCR test as I didnt want a rapid test because I dont trust their accuracy and I knew I had been exposed to someone who tested positive and I had many symptoms. I got there they told me to leave my CC and ID, take the paperwork to the car and that it would be $125, when they came to my car they brought my card back but had charged me $200. Then they said it was because I asked for PCR, which there was no mention that this was $200 instead of $125 I had been quoted. I explained I had PPO insurance and they said they dont have any appointments for that? So not feeling well enough to question it I was like okay, so they take the test, told me 2448 hours. Which was reasonable to me. What they didnt tell me was that they are closed on the weekends, so now Im out $200 and no chance of an answer over the weekend. I feel tricked. I thought they were nice when I first went in so Im disappointed to say the least.
Lets make it clear. I hate going to the doctors with a passion. I had to get Covid19 tested and needed results ASAP. For $125 (worth every penny) I was able to meet the nicest doctor and team ever who made my anxiety go away and get tested form the comfort of my car! These guys know what they are doing and the nasal swab did not hurt at all. I got my results in 15 minutes along with proof I needed. Highly recommend!
To be honest I was not looking for compassion. I was looking for a place to get the job done clean and effectively. This was the place. I needed a COVID19 test ASAP. I am also a medical professional, and it drives me nuts watching medical facilities do it wrong. I visited 3 other places before coming here. They were clear about expectations, they didnt give me the run around. Paid, Got my paperwork and took it to my car to fill out. waited. was tested. Results came back quickly. Easy breezy. Worth every cent.
Was here on 12/13 to get a rapid Covid test which takes 15 minutes to receive your results. This test is not covered by any insurance so they require you pay a premium of $125. Not a big deal if you need your results immediately. They do not take appointments, it is walk in friendly. I got in, provided my info and method pf payment. They then instructed me to go to my car as they kept my ID and credit card for my information. They advised a nurse would come out and test me and to be in the passenger side since I was parked on the street and not in the back lot.I waited about 30 minutes before someone came out to test me. Not a big deal, wait time is expected.Gentleman comes out, does the nasal test and I am up and ready to go in 5 minutes. I was then told I would get a call and email within 15 minutes. 5 minutes go by and I get a call w/ my results. I was then told I should have an email with my results as well (like anywhere else). I check 30 minutes after leaving and no email. Wait until 1hour before they closed.. still NO email. I call the office and express to the receptionist that I needed my test for work, which is why I paid a premium to get it immediately. She then said we were really busy but you should have it within the hour.I check back in an hour and there is no email. Not in my inbox, not in my spam... nowhere. Ok, now I am forced to wait till Monday as they are closed weekends.I call on Monday 11/16, spoke to someone again, they advised they would send it to me immediately... NOTHINGCall Tuesday 11/17... same thing, different day. Here we are now, 11/18 and still NO EMAIL. I called again today, spoke to Sheila, she proceeded to ask me why she did not get a message or email with my concern. I mean, I would think that type of information shouldve been done internally from the 2 other people I spoke to asking for my results. I feel our conversation was more questioning and less resolution based. In the end she invited me to come in and retest for free and to wait for my results to be printed out. Which I appreciate. Here is where my saltiness comes in, instead of questioning me, it shouldve been more of a sorry we screwed up, here is how I can help idk, just a tip.*****So, I am here to tell you to SEND AN EMAIL if you have not received results. Calling and asking for it does nothing apparently.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. The place is immaculate. Dr. Newman is very knowledgeable, he takes the time to listen and find the best solution for the patient. He has helped me with my eye, all the way to Gynecology. I trust his diagnostic and always feel good leaving the facility, knowing I am well taken care of. Great friendly staff too. Glad I found this place. Thank you again.
I have multiple sclerosis parkinsonsons disease a liver abcess and had a horrible reaction to the recent flu shot. I had all the supposed symptoms of covid. I went to American urgent care and was treated so kindly from the minute I walked in. It was so clean. The staff was terrific and dr Newman was kind efficient and marvelous. I had the covid test. Painless. The next morning I had the results. Negative thank god. Dr Newman was so reassuring as we werent sure the day before. This was the best urgent care anyone can go to.
Dr. Robert Newman and his staff at American Urgent Care are super professional and kind. During the covid outbreak they provide a super hygienic environment to attend to urgent medical conditions that is as hassle free and worry free as I could have ever imagined. I was so reluctant to go to the doctor but after my visit here I felt a lot better. They also can provide some prescriptions on site. So it’s as much of a one stop shop for healthcare as our current system provides and really close to my house in Tarzana with lots of parking. I can only remember living in West Hollywood and going to Cedars and paying $35 for parking. Oy. Never again. From now on only Dr. Newman in Tarzana.
Amazing experience. Easy check-in, great doctor. Very very pleasant and new. I will be going back to this urgent care when needed.
