List of Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center's Reviews
Providence Hospital in Tarzana is excellent! All the staff are amazing and hardworking--they treat everyone like family and make you feel truly welcome. They took care of my brother when he was admitted, and the care was excellent. I truly appreciate their professionalism, compassion, and dedication, and I am very thankful. Overall, a great hospital with an incredible team. Highly recommend!
Let's start with the positive. The nurses on the 5th floor were fantastic while my 93 year old mother in law spent almost 10 days in hospital. They get 4 stars . Now for the rest of the hospital starting with the ER. My 93 year old mother in law was brought via ambulance and then kept in a hallway with no privacy for over 24 hours. Eventually they moved her into a semi private bay, but it was non stop patients yelling due to lack of care. There were people injured and sick sitting in plastic chairs with little to no partitions between them as they literally lined the hallways of the ER. The worst by far was nurses were openly arguing with each other and screaming private patients personal medical information out loud for everyone to hear. I had enough and went out to tell them to stop it/shut up because they were violating patients privacy rights and being beyond unprofessional. My mother in law's nurse rolled her eyes at me and stomped off never to be seen again . When my mother in law's BP went through the roof and alarms were going off I had to go look for a nurse I saw and a random doctor who happened to be at the nurses station and doctor stepped in to help her. Once she was stabilized I asked them what the hell is going on in this hospital with the lack of care and concern for patients? I showed them the video I took of the nurses fighting and the nurse who was supposed to be caring for my 93 year old mother in law who constantly seemed annoyed and inconvenienced if we asked her for anything. They apologized and another nurse said they were working on getting my MIL transferred upstairs. After 36 hours in the ER they finally moved her upstairs where she stayed 10 days. As I stated before the nurses on the 5th floor were fantastic. The doctors on the other hand were horrible. They were all aware that my MIL has mild dementia/short term memory loss, yet they felt it was appropriate to barge into her room at 5:30am and unload a bunch of information on her and tell her she was going for gallstone surgery. She called us in a panic and we raced over to the hospital which is only 10 minutes from our home. We were told by her nurse that they were coming to take her shortly to remove her gallstones. Well it wasn't shortly, it was about 6 hours later. After she was returned to her room where I stayed and had been all day so she had support for when the doctor decided to show up, but he never did before or after the surgery. The only thing we were told was " she did great". The next day we were told she needed to have her gallbladder removed... Why did they not do it at the same time rather than risk putting her under anesthesia for a second time in less than 24 hours? According to the charge nurse they did not have a qualified surgeon available to do the surgery when they removed the stones. The following day the gastro PA showed up at 6am and yet again overwhelmed my MIL with medical information that she could not process so she called us again in a panic. We again raced back to the hospital. We asked to speak to the gastric doctor/surgeon and again no communication. I stayed with her over 12 hours that day. By 11am a cardiologist showed up and said she needed a pacemaker because her heart was not beating properly. They were postponing her gallbladder removal surgery until the following day. The cardiologist told her to hang tight and they would be doing the pacemaker surgery in a couple of hours. Finally 8 hours later they show up around 7:30pm to take her for her now second surgery under anesthesia in 24 hours. Again, no doctor communicated how she did, and if she was out of recovery. They did not communicate with the nurses so they could not update me. Instead they called my brother in law who was out of town! I was literally sitting right there and made it clear to communicate with me. My MIL asked them to communicate with me! The next day she was told her gallbladder would be removed the following day and that means being put under anesthesia for the 3rd time in 72 hours. The next day came and by the afternoon we were told they were postponing the removal and she would have to return in a few weeks to have the procedure done as an outpatient. I blew my top by now! My MIL had a gastroenterologist, surgeon, and cardiologist yet none of them could get it together and effectively communicate with her or us as to what was going on and why. I told the charge nurse to call for a proctologist to remove these doctors heads out of their butt so they could hear us and start communicating! This hospital is a joke and poorly ran. They may have attached Cedar Siani's name to the building, but these are not Cedar's standards.
Fast and efficient, but cleanliness is a little concerning
This hospital does not feel or look like a hospital. Looks more like a Hotel and the staff are Great.
Horrible care! Inattentive nurses on the Med-surg unit. A patients IV disconnedted and he was bleeding all over the bed, took them 10 minutes to attend to it!
Worst hospital emergency room ever. From the doctor to the nurses. I went in because it was an emergency & they dismissed me like it was something my doctor had to do. They didn't care enough to do any blood work or anything. I really wish I was joking but avoid this place!
Incredible staff, nurses are so funny, kind, alert, cautious, and caring. Anesthesiologist was ace. Not too much and not too little. I woke up feeling quite well. Great hospital, from my experience.

This is the worst hospital - do not go here! The physicians are negligent and it resulted in the death of my twin sons. After the fact, I continued to receive medical bills and they never returned my calls to get it resolved.
I recently had a procedure here, and I cannot say enough about how amazing my experience was. From the moment I walked through the doors, the facility itself set the tone — clean, welcoming, and calming, which immediately helped ease the anxiety I had about facing surgery and the unknown. The staff at the front desk and first floor treated me with kindness and warmth, making me feel truly cared for from the start. When I was brought upstairs for my procedure, I was met by incredible nurses who went above and beyond to prepare me. Mary Ann and Helen, in particular, helped me feel comfortable, answered all my questions with patience, and treated me with genuine compassion. To the other staff whose names I may not remember, I will never forget how you made me feel safe and cared for during such a vulnerable time. Dr. Reddy, my surgeon, was the reason I finally decided to move forward with this procedure after holding off for so long. He gave me the confidence and built the trust I needed, taking the time to thoroughly explain everything — why it was important, what to expect, and how he would take care of me. His reassurance and professionalism were exactly what I needed, and I am deeply grateful not only for the excellent outcome of my procedure but for the peace of mind he gave me throughout. In recovery, I was immediately comforted by a nurse who explained where I was as I woke up from anesthesia so I wouldn’t feel disoriented. That small gesture meant so much in keeping me calm and grounded. Grace, my discharge nurse, was also wonderful —thorough, attentive, and kind in making sure I had everything I needed before leaving. I also want to recognize Larry, a volunteer who plays such an important role in patient and family support. He not only kept loved ones updated during procedures but also personally made sure I was comfortable while I was waiting for my ride home. He sat with me, kept me company with thoughtful conversation, and even wheeled me out to ensure I got safely into the vehicle. That level of personal care is something I will never forget. Overall, every person I encountered, named here or not, showed genuine compassion and professionalism. Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana is not just a hospital, it’s a place where the staff make you feel like you are truly in good hands. I left not only with successful care but with a deep sense of gratitude for the people who dedicate themselves every day to making patients feel safe, respected, and cared for. Highly recommend this facility and its incredible team.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
