List of Azim U Azhand's Reviews
Doctor is great his staff members are rude
Although I have readheard great reviews about Dr. Azim U. Azhand I cant seem to say the same about his staff. I called in as I am new to the area and I wanted to check if they took my insurance and schedule an appointment. The receptionist answer casually spoke as if she dreaded her job lazy tone and would give me ready cut and dry answers. She ZERO enthusiasm and didnt even say thank you at the end and just hung up after I said thank you yo her. Not used to this kind of service in a doctors office SPECIALLY a pediatricians office. Receptionists are the face of the office and should be helpful and welcoming to potential patients
Dr. Azhand needs to remomind his staff they are not doctors. The lady working 0319 was completly incompetent and rude. The doctor told us to take our daughter in if her tempature did not go down after the 3rd day. My daughters temp was 102.5 when she woke up that day so we took her to the doctors office for a urine test as the doctor requested. By the time the non docotor saw her my daughter had no tempature. The non doctor basicially scolded us saying she had no temp impying we are wasting her non doctor time. It was like this lasy is unawre that medicine will make the temp go down. Im confident the doctor foolish like his staff member. He is a great doctor but dont let this lady have any say in your childs health or outcome.
Edited: we ended up down in San Diego to REBREAK the ark to reset it. So it heals correctly.. Ticked peeved doesn't even remotely come close to how I feel currently. PLEASE RUN AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR! don't even bring your children here. They do not deserve any stars! I we'll be complaining to the California board..He isn't one to listen to the parents intuition (when I asked for a allergy test for one of my daughters it was like pulling teeth). I'm not one to leave nasty reviews, everything in the past week has been a NIGHTMARE! Another daughter a month ago broke her right arm that referral over to Radys was easy. Than last Tuesday she broke her left arm. I called Wednesday they stated that they would have the referral by that week. Friday I still had not heard anything. Finally I called back and the lady had NO idea what I was referring too. Monday I had a appointment to remove her first cast, they informed me that we still did not have a referral of course there office is closed. I don't recommend Azhand a child could run a better pediatric office..
Both of our boys went to Dr. Azhand since they were born. one is now in medical school at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School and the other is a sophomore in college. We’ve known Dr Azhand for a long time but my younger boy was diagnosed with congenital Atrial Septal Defect ASD when he was 17 by another doctor when we switched over to Kaiser on his first visit with a Kaiser doctor. He visited Dr Azhand for 17 years Religiously on an annual basis for checkups immunization and many times when it was necessary. I am a little perplexed as to how the hole in his heart which he was born with was not diagnosed for the 17 years. To be fair I know it can be difficult to diagnose this condition if he is asymptomatic. The hole in his heart was 1 inch by 1.5 inches. He had blood shunting through this hole from his right to left atrial chamber. This shunting made a murmur sound when you listen to it on a stethoscope. I guess Dr Azhand never heard the murmur in the 17 years. So I was very glad we switch insurance and his new doctor at Kaiser saved him from allowing this condition to further damage his heat and ultimately shorten his life. They caught it in time and closed the hole using a medical device inserted using a catheter. He is doing fine thanks to Kaiser.
This place is a joke. I made alot of arrangements to take my son for an eye exam at this place. First of all, the front desk ladies don't even have it together, they need to start asking the right questions before they assume anything. Then the OA in the back was coughing all over my son as she was taking his weight on the scale didn't even bother to cover her mouth when coughing. Then she asked us to go into a room with her and then she proceeded to start cleaning after the last patient while we were in there. Seriously?? She couldn't check if the room was available and clean before she took us to the room? On top of that she has no communication skills with kids what so ever. She started taking his temperature and blood pressure without even talking to him about it at all. OA's usually tell my son what they are about to do him so that he knows what to do. Well not this OA. When she finally started asking me questions about his health she wasn't even facing me, I was just talking to her back. Then we were told to wait for the doctor to come in. So we sat in the hot room waiting for about 30 mins. Dr. Azhand knocked on the door and came in just to tell me that he doesn't know why we were there since all we needed was a number to go get glasses for my son and that he didn't need an eye exam for that, well the school nurse thought other wise since it hasn't been determined by a doctor that my son needed reading glasses and that's why I had scheduled that appointment with him today. Then he proceeded to pretend that he was examining my son's eyes by just flashing into my son's eyes and didn't even tell him before hand and then got mad because my son couldn't keep his eye open. He got pretty rude after that, he was almost yelling at him for not being able to keep his eyes open when he didn't tell my son before he flashed into his eyes. Are you kidding me?? While he was doing this to my son he kept mumbling about some number and I asked him to explain and even then I didn't get a straight answer. And that's all what he did and walked out and said that he'll see us for the next year physical exam. I'm wondering what he'll be billing my insurance for??? What a waste of my time and my son lost half a day at school for this appointment because it was an urgent matter. I usually don't go by reviews when I visit a place because I believe that if you haven't personally seen it, it may not be true, but trust me I don't have time to be on the internet wasting my time making up stories about people and places. I took the time to review this place because my son's health is not a joke for someone to feel that it is okay to waste people's time and money and not even provide the proper care that his health requires. So now, I have to start all over and reschedule his appointment somewhere else because this Dr. couldn't do his job. Unacceptable!!!
We just had our first checkup for our two kids with Dr. Azhand and staff. The check in was easy and the assistants were professional and friendly. Dr. Azhand did the exam and spent plenty of time with us and gave great advice to both my son and daughter. After the exam, each kid got three vaccinations. The nurses did a fantastic job and made the kids feel less anxious. Overall, we had a great experience and thus the 5 stars. : )
Front desk have really bad attitude. No manner. Blames the patient for double booking.
Quick and easy. Front staff and nurses are always nice and will make availability when emergency arises. Firm on vaccination which is fantastic will keep your children safe.
The reason this doc get a ONE star (too bad there's no Zero) is because of his bedside manners and hush you in and out of the door. Front staff is excellent, BUT the doctor is less than desirable his lack of people skill shows. How can you see a first-time patient without introducing yourself, ask about her name, etc...I went to him because of ALL the reviews, and for me, it was a horrible experience. I understand being new to the area and having been spoiled in the military docs, BUT this physician is less than desirable (I don't care about how great you are). He seems that he's always too busy to listen to any concerns you might have. Most of the people that are happy with him must have been longtime patients whos kids were very young when they started to see him.
