List of Gary Scott Voorman's Reviews
Dr G. Scott Voorman is a very good ENT. He has decades of experience, he is calm, rational, and truly listens, without interruption or minimizing the patient's concern. The ladies at the front desk are very kind, have a good sense of humor, and try to make patients comfortable. The Thousand Oaks practice is relaxed and you don't feel like an inconvenience. They take PPO insurance, and there are zero problems. Highly recommended!
I saw Dr. Voorman for the first time yesterday. What a warm, kind, and thorough doctor! One of the best bedside manners I've ever experienced! I feel so fortunate to have accidentally run across him. The front desk was also friendly and efficient. Thank you all so much!
He misdiagnosed me and stung me along doing a monthly nose spray for 6 months. Then, he gave me a surgery that I didn't need and didn't help for polyps. I had MRSA in my sinus cavity and he totally missed it. He's a bad a doctor.
Dr. Voorman listened to my concerns after I sustained head trauma and small break in my nose due to an accidental fall. He treated me with great knowledge and compassion, answering all my questions. He also walked me through what to expect short and long term. I saw other specialties due my fall and no one came close to how awesome Dr. Voorman treated me with initial and follow-up appointments. Thank you!

Saw Dr. Voorman twice, at his Thousand Oaks office at that was enough for me. Not only does his office demand money up front, even though I have great insurance, but his mannerism is off-putting. I really don't feel it is pertinent for the doctor to prattle on endlessly about all the medicines I should not take for acid reflux and just tell me what I need to take. It was merely a show-off tactic which left me completely unimpressed and wasted my time. Especially after having to wait 30 minutes past my appointment to see him. I will be looking for a new ENT doctor in the near future.
Dr. Voorman is by far the most patient, understanding and sympathetic doctor I have ever been to. If you are looking for an ENT, he's the man.
Good luck trying to get through to these people on the phone. Each time I called I've had to wait so long I gave up (15 minutes?!). Also, the hold music is so loud it almost blew my phone speaker out. Lastly, my appointment was made without my knowledge in the first place. Ridiculous.
We had confidence in his professional/medical expertise. He is patient, steady and clear.
I made an appointment with Dr. Voorman on a Friday at 3PM. First thing they wanted was my money. I said shouldn't it want till after the visit just incase you need to add to it? They said "no," we must take your payment first and we will collect more later it need be. That for starters turned me off. It's not like I was going to run out the back door after the visit. THEN, I say "I'm very nervous about the visit. Im not one to get sick and I don't like doctor visits." So they kindly put me in a room and closed the door and left me there for about 15 minutes. Someone nervous should not be sitting in a small room with the door closed starring at all the medical stuff in the room. It adds to the anxiety. Finally Dr. Voorman came in. We was polite and quick to say he thinks he knows what my problem is and it will require an Audiogram to confirm it. As he is walking out the door he looks back and says "the good news is, we can do the audiogram in office and Im going to get you feeling better!" I thought great! I like him and Im thrilled I don't have to go anywhere else and can get to feeling better asap. So he walks out and says to a nurse"she's going to need an audiogram." So I sit in the room waiting and waiting. Finally after about 15 minutes of waiting I let out a big sigh and drop my hands in to my lap. I guess a nurse heard me because she popped her head in and said "are you alright?" I said "I hope so. Im just waiting for my hearing test." She said "oh, you have to schedule that." I said "he said it was a in-office procedure and only takes 15 minutes." She said "yes, but we have to schedule it." When I stepped to the counter to schedule it I looked around the waiting room and there was not one person waiting. I said "can't we do it now? Nobody is even waiting." She said "no." I said "why? So you can charge me for another visit? Because clearly nobody is even waiting in the waiting room and Im willing to wait. I want to get better asap and the weekend is here" She said "no." Then she told me their schedule was "wide" open next week. So I picked 8am Monday morning as I had already been suffering for two weeks and needed to start feeling better asap. When I come in Monday a guy is at the counter. I had seen him sitting in his car out front as he showed up early like I did. He had forgotten his wallet. It had been a 55 minute drive for him. They said "sorry, you have to reschedule." I thought, how sad! As if his day isn't bad enough forgetting his wallet and now your going to turn him away for it. Sheesh! They could hand him a bill and trust he will pay it or, ruin his credit if he doesn't!! I felt so sorry for him! It just seems so wrong. I get my hearing test done lickty split and they charge me 230.00 for the visit. Imnd you I had paid 150. cash on Friday to be told to schedule the "in office" audiogram. The Audiologist tells me I should be hearing from the doctor that day. I couldn't wait! I was suffering by now 3 more additional days after the appointment to get his call and hopefully a prescription from him. No call on Monday. No call on Tuesday. No call on Wednesday. I finally call today and get a receptionist that apologizes to me but has no answer. Says Dr. Voorman is out all week and the other Doctor is in surgery. This is after Dr. Voorman had said right after he sees the results of my hearing test he will likely call in a prescription should it turn out to be what he thought it was based on the test. So either he forgot me or, he planned on making me suffer another entire week before he looks at it. I have no idea! I can't get answers. The receptionist said "do you want to speak with the Office Supervisor?" I said "yes please, she should know what's going on and how Im being forgotten. This is not how any practice should operate." After being on hold for 10 mnuntes Im told Sylvia must be in a meeting. This sucks!!! Im suffering and almost a week later have not heard from any doctor regarding my test results and problem. Yet I've been there twice and paid twice!! This is just wrong! Let alone making a patient who forgot their wallet turn around after 55 minutes in traffic. Im disgusted in so many ways about this practice. I'd find another practice if I were you. I don't write Yelp reviews. This is my first because Im just THAT PISSED OFF about this place!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
