No one diagnoses, treats or cares for patients like Dr. Johnson does. Excellence is ingrained in his skill as a physician and compassion in his humanity. All the best to him.

Had endoscopy and afterwards he told me disgustedly I had “debris” in my stomach. Later I had tests done with a competent doctor who found I had stomach emptying syndrome. He was no help at all. Also had terrible reaction to anesthesia and when I asked what I was given he said he had no idea. Glad I finally found a doctor to do proper testing and treatment. Hope he isn’t practicing anymore! The worst!

Dr. Johnson helped my grandfather and that's how I found out about him. I went to get an endoscopy done by him after he performed the procedure he did not talk to me or my parents to let them know anything. I was then put to sleep when I said I did not want to be and then was charged extra. I then called his office and the woman I spoke to was extremely rude and should not be working somewhere you talk to people.

Seriously go buzz your own house with your plane. Go fly over farm fields or the ocean. I have to listen to your plane too often.

I met with Dr Johnson, and he was more than friendly and very engaging. He ordered up blood work, and a CT Scan. His staff were very quick to report the results of the tests. However, the CT Scan revealed a concern RE: kidney. The staff called me and told me the CT Scan was good in general, BUT, there was a "mass" discovered on the kidney. When I asked the particulars, the poor staff was cautiously informative, so I asked to have Dr Johnson, the once very engaging and affable clinician call me with an analysis based on his education, and the fact that he was a medical doctor. The staff did the best they could to get me more information; they were clearly empathetic to my concern. But Dr Johnson did not call me. To the staff's credit, they were working as a go between and trying to convey to me that Dr Johnson's expertise was not in urology. The caring staff got the CT Report off to several urological oncologists who I know within minutes of me giving their names, and within one hour of receiving the Report, these doctors from UCLA and USC called me on my cell phone and went over the CT Report relative to the kidney. Dr Johnson is a wonderful guy, and I trust him as an internist, but when his staff calls a patient with news other than "everything is normal," Greg has simply got to get on the phone and give you two minutes of his time. I would recommend Dr Johnson, but simply be prepared that he is a very competent and highly skilled internists who leaves the unnerving business of notification to his staff to give you, perhaps, the "bad news." The staff are over the top engaging. Mixed bag of tricks, but very very competent doctor. He should not be judged for his "bed side manner." But perhaps he should call a patient if they ask him.

I did not see this doctor but called for an appointment after I was referred by the ER after a CT scan revealed that my Crohn's disease was active after 5 years in remission. I explained to the receptionist that I was still in a great amount of pain even with the pain meds that the ER prescribed and that Dr. Johnson was the 4th GI doctor I was calling for an appointment because the others I called didn't have availability for 2-3 weeks. The receptionist said they had a cancellation today and offered me the appointment but then asked for $150 new patient deposit. I let her know that I did not have the money for a deposit as I am starting grad school on the 27th and just purchased my college textbooks but I offered to pay my $40 copay which is not typically collected up front with my health insurance. She said she'd check with the doctor and call me back. She called me back and said the doctor wouldn't see me without the full $150 deposit.I work for a large corporation and I have GREAT health insurance through my employer and I have already met my deductible for the year. There is NO reason why I should have to pay a "new patient" deposit to see a physician who accepts my health insurance. I've seen quite a few specialists over the years and also worked as a medical receptionist in several different offices and never heard of anything like this EVER.Even if I could borrow the money I still wouldn't want to see him because he proved what kind of physician he is, one that cares more about money than patient care. Disgusting.

I've had 4 procedures done with Dr Johnson over the last 25 years and you you can't find a more caring doctor. He is straight to the point with information and kind in his delivery of difficult news. He and his office have provided great followup. Insurance issues are causing a lot of doctors to just leave the field, we can't blame them like some of these reviews have. I'm very happy he is still providing care, probably saved my life this month finding a problem early.

I adore Dr. Johnson and his staff. Receiving treatment from his was literally life changing for me and has greatly improved the quality of my life. His expertise uncovered a condition I'd been long suffering with that multiple other doctors had not picked up on.

I'm all about performance and end results, not nonsense like insurance coverage issues, staff who didn't smile when I walked in the door or how long it took to make an appointment. Dr. Johnson removed a very large gallstone that passed into my common bile duct, a very delicate and difficult procedure requiring skill, precision and experience. As a result I was in severe pain and had a bad case of jaundice and pancreatitis. He gave me the best options, worked with me and removed the stone immediately after careful and professional testing. Everything went perfect. As far as I'm concerned, everything else is irrelvant.
