This company is in desperate need of restructuring how they take information, transfer information, and treat their clients. They did not take the right information and get in touch with me as they were supposed to. Then when the MRI was taken and sent back to them they had no record of it or why they have not seen it. How would anybody trust them to operate on their body. This is a high risk company I would never recommend him or go to Them again.

Do not recommend unless you want to pay nearly $1000 per 5-10 min visit, $400 for a simple cortisone shot, over $2700 for an MRI and still not have your problem solved. Canceled an additional follow-up appointment because once I got the first bill which totaled over $5k, I did not want to incur another $1k. Do not recommend going to any UCLA Health office. I've had several friends with a similar experiences of OUTRAGEOUS costs.

Hung on a call for more than an hour just to make an appointment.Called before they closed and they just kept the annoying on hold message going and going and going.They do need to update their phone holding system.For a practice associated with UCLA and with 40 doctors, you'd think they could afford a better phone system.Got a hold of them the next day and they were very nice and professional. Upped my star rating.

It’s really unfortunate that all the different departments of this SCOI building are under one review entry, because the quality really depends on which part of the whole institute you are dealing with.I saw Dr. Getelman a few years ago for a shoulder injury, and he was great! Saw me, diagnosed me, got me into physical therapy in no time and I was like new in just a few weeks. The physical therapy department are all great.I’m currently seeing Dr. Bahk and his PA Neil for a knee injury and surgery, and they have been utterly fantastic; honestly the best medical team I’ve ever interacted with. They answer all my questions kindly and fully, and Dr. Bahk always gives me options for my care and treatment so I don’t feel pressured into any one kind of solution, but rather the one that fits my needs and goals the best. I just have always felt very taken care of in my experience with Dr. Bahk and Neil.I’ve also seen Dr. Spelts for a clearance for surgery check-up, and he was wonderful, too.I’m horrified reading all these very negative reviews about the staffers. Granted these reviews are mostly from a year ago, but as of my coming to the office since February of this year (2020), I have felt adequately taken care of by them. Not especially over-the-top pampered or babied by them, but I’ve felt they’ve called me in and taken down my information professionally and in a timely manner.I will say as far as scheduling an MRI, I do agree with the other reviews on this. It’s very frustrating to try and schedule an MRI at this office. Phones ringing off the hook, calls not returned for over a week; it set me back a couple of weeks in trying to get care for my injury, which I’m fortunate enough to afford that kind of patience and time, but I can definitely understand how competing athletes and employees need to be on a tight track with their medical care to get back to their activities and jobs. The good news is though, that even if a SCOI doctor orders an MRI, you don’t necessarily have to get it from this office. You can get it elsewhere and bring your MRI to your doctor.But once you do have an MRI appointment at this location, the MRI team taking care of you does so efficiently and professionally.So I would like to break down my rating because it’s unfair that the whole building is under one umbrella rating:MRI scheduling: 1 starMRI team: 3.5 starsOrthopedic office staff: 3.5 starsPhysical Therapy: 4 starsDr. Getelman: 5 starsDr. Spelts: 5 starsDr. Bahk: 5 starsNeil Yasuda (PA): 5 stars

Since UCLA took over SCOI, this had become a bogus institute. They do not tell you how much it will cost for visit and whether you are in network of your insurance or not and then bam comes a big bill. My doctor simply looked at me from a distance sent me for MRI and XRay when I had nothing broken and only pain. And his bill was 700$ for visit and 2000$ for MRI. Now they are threatening me to pay or send it to collection agencies. No way to dispute. No way to talk to anybody. The billing dept support people just keep on playing the same tune that I have to pay. Please do not visit this institute. It was great when it was SCOI. Now UCLA cares all about money and squeezing its patients.

The doctors at SCOI are great but for gods sake dont go here for MRI. They wont tell you how much its going to cost and then they will charge you for arm and a leg!!. I was charged 5000$ for an MRI and the billing department isnt doing anything about it. My insurance reduced it to 3300$ and now I need to pay 3300$ for an stupid MRII FEEL LIKE BEING ROBBED!!!!

Dr. Bauer has been an outstanding surgeon for me he has made sure that I am doing what I need to and he has been a total communication.  He makes sure that I know what I need to do next and he is always there for questions. I would highly recommend this group for anyone that is considering knee surgery so that you can get your lifestyle back.

I am more than pleased with the level of care from Dr. Getelman and his staff. The response time when I need them is literally within the hour, even on the weekends or holidays, as my recovery has been through Christmas. Dr. Getelman was my "second opinion" doctor and I am so glad I decided to consult him. His assessment of my shoulder MRI was much more detailed and he actually discovered things that were omitted from the first doctor's opinion. He did a fantastic job and went way above and beyond to correct a severely injured mess!!! Katie, his PA, is extremely competent, as well as compassionate. The means of communication through the internal portal was outstanding. I received daily emails in which I replied to several questions regarding my recovery, as well as an opportunity to voice man own questions and concerns. Those questions were answered within the hour!!!! Amazing care. THANK YOU Dr. Getelman!!!! I highly recommend this doctor. He is outstanding!

Half of the STAFF is rude, unhappy with bad attitudes. They need customer service re-training. I own 2 businesses, we treat clients with utmost respect & best service because we make our living from them. I only go there since it's close by.
