Roy T. Butera's Online Review Report Card

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Butera's for many years. He is always patient, kind and thorough. He performed cataract surgery on my husbands eyes and he's never had to have it redone, plus was able to get rid of his glasses. We always look forward to our visit with Dr. Butera.

Dr Butera is my FAVORITE Dr to go see. Knowledgeable, efficient, personable. Love him to bits and hope he keeps working cuz he’s one in a million!

Unsatisfactory result of laser capsulotomy and unwilling to even look at my eye again. Then Lynn eye clinic tried to double bill me. Nothing but a nightmare.

Have gone to Dr Butera for years and years. He has ALWAYS answered my questions and keeps a close eye (no pun intended) on my continuing eye issues. So sorry that the person with the negative review had a poor experience, but I am speaking from at least 30 years of working with this doctor and have complete confidence in his care, and in his referrals (which have worked out very well).

I saw Dr. Butera for some issues I was having with my vision, floaters, etc. He wouldn't answer any of my questions during the exam and told me to wait until he was finished writing everything down. That seemed odd to me but I just ignored it and continued with the appointment. He gave me a new glasses and contacts prescription which I filled at Costco, and they were not correct at all. I have worn contacts/glasses for at least 10 years and know what a new, stronger prescription should feel like, even though he told me it was just my eyes needing to get used to it. Well, my eyes did not get used to it and I called his office to set up a follow-up appointment to fix my prescription. I called multiple times and he refused to respond. Eventually his receptionist told me that he had checked his records and said that the prescription he wrote down was correct...makes no sense considering he never rechecked my eyes! After that I called again a few times, and he completely ignored me; even his office staff said that they were confused why he was behaving this way, and that his response made no sense. It has been about month and no response still, which is frustrating considering we payed hundreds of dollars for nothing. I went to the Costco optometrist and they said the prescription was wrong and that I don't have an astigmatism, contrary to what he had prescribed. Needless to say I was right, he was wrong, and I am upset about his unprofessional attitude. Will not be back and do not recommend.

Dr. Butera is so nice and a really great doctor!! My daughter poked me in the eye accidentally in the late evening. About 2 am, I woke up and could not open my eye, so I went to the ER. The ER doc said I should follow up with an ophthalmologist the next day. I called my insurance and got some names. Dr. Butera was on my plan and I called to schedule an appt. He had an open appt that same morning. I was in so much pain I would have seen anyone!! The office staff was professional and I didn't have to wait very long. During the visit, he was very educational, caring, professional, and helpful. It was a very enjoyable visit. I am so glad that I was put in contact with him!!

Dr. Butera is a fantastic opthomologist.His staff is friendly and helpful, waiting time is not long at all. He gives you full attention while with you. He is very thorough and thoughtful. He Tells you what he finds and makes any necessary recommendations. If you need glasses, Bob the dispensing optician is also very friendly helpful and professional. Cannot recommend this Dr. and his office highly enough
