List of Urgentmed - Thousand Oaks's Reviews
HIPAA violations in the first 10 minutes of my visit. This used to be an urgent care owned by Howell Healthcare but was recently sold to a larger chain. My experience here was nothing short of a disaster. I walked out before even being seen. I was there for opening the vast majority of people who were waiting needed covid tests. But they were all turned away because they only do it by appointment. As a healthcare provider turning your back on people during a pandemic is disgraceful. One woman was in tears because she needed a test to see her husband in hospital and they started giving her a real hard time about not knowing the different tests. When it was my turn they asked me some very personal health questions in front of a group of other people at the door waiting to get in. In my case I was having breathing problems. She asked me point blank What do you want us to do about it? Seriously??? Im not a doctor and thats why Im here. Lastly I asked about my medical records from the 10 years of me being a patient at Howell. They HAVE NO RECORDS Where the hell is my medical data. This is a complete and shocking disgrace for a medical provider.
What an amazing Urgent Care. Apparently there is a emergency health crisis in Thousand Oaks with facilities. The hospitals and urgent cares are overbooked. At this Urgent Care every one was wonderful helpful and has a great attitude. The doctor was patient and very caring. Very impressed with the compassion and help we received. I am grateful. They also have very reasonable prices if you dont have insurance.

I came to this urgent care last week for a medical clearance and blood work. I had called 2 times before hand to make sure that could be done at this location and was assured both times it could be done without a problem. Once I arrived this location had only one other person in the waiting room besides myself. I informed them of what I needed done and was told they would ask the provider. After 15 minutes the girl comes back and said according to the provider it was too big of a responsibility and they wont do it...Simple blood work was too big of a responsibility for an urgent care? Doesnt seem to make sense to me. Weather it was an RN NP or MD on staff that day blood work is a simple task. Highly disappointed that I was assured multiple times it could be done and upon arrival was told no and that I needed to go elsewhere. Ive been coming here for years but this made me feel unconfident in their abilities and will not be returning.
Waited a week for test results to find out if I had a bacterial infection which I was convinced I had. When I called to check on the results I was informed the sample wasnt good so the lab didnt preform the test. Two weeks into what experience told me is an upper respiratory infection sick as a dog and the receptionist said that I need to come back in two days to see the original Dr. in order to get on antibiotics and not pay another $65 copay. Someone should have called me about the test. ExER in Newbury Park is a better run urgent care facility.
We are new to the area and we just have visited Adult and Pediatric Urgent Care for our son. He had bad rashes and it was spreading very rapidly around upper part of his body. Luckily Doctor told us that the skin rashes were caused by the grass. The doctor and all the staff members at the urgent care were so friendly I wanted to give 5 stars for the review I definitely recommend this Urgent Care
Love this place Im actually writing this from the office waiting to leave. Had to go in for an allergic reaction never had one before first time here and everyone was very helpful and really sweet. Dr. Tuero is great and she knows her stuff Im not big on medical offices even as a grown woman and they made me feel very comfortable and well taken care of. Will definitely recommend this place in the future. Now lets just hope this shot in my butt works...
Covid test took longer than they said. Nearly an hour and virtually no one else was there. They said my test was covered by insurance but wasnt. The nasal swab wasnt bad at all. Didnt hurt in the slightest.
Never fun having to go to urgent care especially on a Sunday. I arrived amp was greeted by Nicolewho was incredibly nice amp patient amp helpfulshe did my paperwork amp then Brittany brought me to the back to take my vitals. She was very sweet amp made me feel comfortable there. It was a quick wait to see the Doctor. Dr. Tuerro was nothing but professional amp courteous. Even though I was in pain amp not feeling my best it was a very pleasant experience I would HIGHLY recommend coming here if you ever have to go to any urgent care in Ventura county. I mean who wants to work on a Sunday? Let alone have a positive attitude amp be as helpful as these women Thank you ladies
I received a bill and a phone call threatening to send my account to collections. The adjusted balance on the bill was $3.27. I paid my copay they ran one test. Charged $45.00 for the test. Blue Cross paid $41.73. They are too petty. Sending $3.27 to collections and having a person call me over the phone asking for a credit card to cover it is GROSS. I will never go there again. Ill be going to MEND from any of my families urgent care needs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
