I had ACL reconstructive surgery here and my experience was great. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It was my first surgery ever and the nurses and medical assistants were very comforting. They make you feel like you are safe and in good hands. After surgery I hung out for 45 minutes to make sure I felt good enough to go home. If you have surgery here you are in good hands

I had shoulder surgery here about 2.5 weeks ago and thought the staff was really wonderful. From Michelle who called to go over preop to nurses Tiffany and Patty who got me ready day of I felt confident that I was in good hands. I didnt catch the name of my recovery room nurse but she was patient and kind helping me to dress and getting me in the car. I received a followupcheckin call the next day as well. My dad came here for surgery with Dr. Hecht see my previous Yelp review for his office. The office is super clean. The staff is awesome I had to reschedule my dads surgery SO many times... sorry Every time I would reschedule the staff would always be so nice about it and accommodate. Special thanks to Christine the scheduler for being so understanding. I appreciate it. PostOp Nurse Patti took care of my dad. She was awesome I like her very much. She was so sweet and kind. Made sure my dad was ok after surgery. Gave him apple juice. Checked on him etc. I know its her job to take care of him but I just think she did an amazing job

I have had two procedures done here and have had an excellent experience both times.  Any concern or anxiety I had about the procedures was greatly reduced by just how smoothly everything has gone both times.  The staff at admission the nurses anesthesiologist and doctor were all outstanding from admission to discharge

Dirty. Terrible nurses more interested in gossiping about coworkers than caring for patients.  Terrible pain control. Improperly billed my care credit and instead of just calling to redo it then sent me a notice 2 months later stating they were turning me over to collections for an extra $20000 more than my bill. When I again gave them my card they refused to bill for the anesthesiologist group as they were supposed to who dont take care credit and now I have to find $2000.  Unethical.  Shady. Worst experience ever all around

Ive had a few surgical procedures and nerve ablation for sciatica performed here and every single time the nurses are so amazing and caring. I have had some procedures here that required sedation and some procedures that did not. I had a good outcome either way. Having a procedure is not something that I necessarily look forward to having except for the end result of feeling better but all of the nurses make you feel so comfortable from the beginning of the admissions process all the way to the time that you are discharged. I highly recommend this outpatient facility for all of your surgical needs. Oh and another important fact I have never experienced any billing issues or prior authorization issues with this facility ever If you have a choice of facilities to choose from I would choose Surgery Center of South Bay.

The low rating is for the support staff and billing office they are either incompetent or woefully understaffed. Send out bogus bills you have to pay upfront and then dont call back when they say they will just leave you hanging thinking they are calling. Their own systems do not work....even though they have properly credited my account in accounting billing somehow doesnt know this and insists they have not received payment and want me to prove I paid it via a cancelled check from the bank. Astoundingly poor customer service.Will be talking to my surgeon about this locations poor financial practices and will never use them again....or recommend them to anyone. Ugh

The nurses were caring and professional. The anesthesiologist I got was also great. He was funny and made me feel comfortable going into surgery.

Had 2 surgeries here for cataracts only one eye at a time in the spring of 2012 . . . . so take my words with a grain of salt maybe theyve fixed their problems since then.Q Why did it take you this long to write a Yelp review? A Until recently it had not occurred to me that medical facilities were Yelpable. positives The building amp equipment are as modern amp clean as one can hope for.My surgeries went swimmingly well. Both ontheday and with recovery in the weeks afterward.My prep nurse for the first surgery was a 50+ man Dana who was firstclass all the way. Knew his stuff technically and how to put me at ease psychologically. Handed me the shower cap that patients wear during surgery to cover their hair and said Put this on even though you dont need it Im bald. Really? I dont have enough anxiety with my eyes getting cut open? I need an employee whose salary Im partially subsidizing with my medical fees to zing me with snide remarks? And no it wasnt goodnatured ribbing on her part there was no twinkling smile after she said it to indicate that she was joking.Before each surgery I paid my fees there are two separate charges one to the surgery center + one to the anesthesiologist upfront in full. Days after my second surgery I receive a bill dated sometime in between the two surgeries in the mail for something in the ballpark of $9000. I was flabbergasted. So I wrote to them with copies of the receipts for all the fees that Id paid upfront on the morning of each surgery and asked what the hell this new bill was for it did not itemize any materials or labor it just said pay us ~$9000 or whatever the figure was. I never heard back from them. Clearly theyd made a major mistake. If not they surely would have sent supporting documentation to explain the $9000 + stronglyworded language reminding me of the consequences of failing to pay it. But I received nothing in return. Making a gargantuan billing error and then not having the honor to admit it and apologizing? Wow. Just wow.
