Mr Soderlund hung up on me when I expressed the fear I might have lung cancer due to chest pains and shortness of breath along with finger nails that are splitting, clubbing and spooning. I told him I didn’t appreciate his cavalier attitude and rudeness telling me just go to the emergency room When this was the 2nd time I expressed concern over my finger nails which at best could be low oxygen levels and possible sign of lung or heart disease. With a history of cancer I’ve been terrified and having anxiety attacks and afraid to get a cancer screening. So I finally got up the courage to make a Dr. Appt. and find out if I’m OK or going to die and this so called “Dr” actually hung up on me.
OMG... this Dr. is amazing!! no holds, great info!! and preventive maint.!!
I am very surprised to read the negative "unprofessional and uncaring" rating posted 11.23-24.13.I have nothing but positives to report on Dr. Soderlund.Following my husband's open-heart surgery in December 2018, he was put under Dr. Soderlund's care for follow-up/follow-along. Dr. Soderlund is very knowledgable of the MANY drugs my husband has been prescribed by a team of several doctors in different fields for various after-surgery complications. He has checked all for compatibility and correct dosage and has made changes as deemed necessary. He has also taken the time and patience to give us updates, answer all of our questions, and to keep us in a positive frame of mind. To us, this is of utmost importance, especially during such a stressful time. "Unprofessional and uncaring"? I think not. Kudos to Dr. Soderlund!
Very loud voice. Kept me waiting 90 minutes despite nobody in the waiting room. And for some reason, he couldn't stop yawning. He noticed that I had an Rx for Alprazolam, but I told him I rarely (if ever) took the stuff. I said so several times, yet he continued lecturing me on dangers of benzodiazepines. Where am I , kindergarten? The entire encounter was a total waste of time.
After Mom suffered chest pains and spent a few days in Torrance Memorial's ICU, she was transferred to a transitional area for observation. Dr. Soderlund saw her on his rounds. Our family was very impressed with his caring and professional attitude. After Mom was discharged from the hospital, we took her to see Dr. S. at his office. The staff was great, showing kindness and efficiency. Dr. S. explained everything to us, answered all our questions, and gave us xlnt advice on prevention of future episodes. He made sure appointments with specialists were made for Mom. Dr. Soderlund is a top notch asset to the HCP medical group.
This is a man with no basic understanding of medical practice. He doesn't even test for confirmation of patients complaint. Verbally abusive (screams and hollers at the patient) for seeking medical help. Use this doctor with great caution. Better still, try a doctor who comes recommended.
Very Rude, Unprofessional and Uncaring. Not a good Dr. to go to if you're looking for help or answers.
His personal problems override his value as a professional.
This doctor has disabling ego maniacal tendencies. He defies all present modern medical understanding. When my spouse was admitted to the ER because of a quite sudden life threatening high blood pressure reading, the immediate assumption by the ER doctor was that a stroke or heart attack was immanent. All testing proved otherwise, she was not having either a heart attack or stroke. She was told to see her personal doctor, Soderlund, the following day. This she did but only after a three days later, since Soderlund 'knew' she was not having a heart attack or stroke. When she next met Soderlund she was given treatment comparable to a African Witch Doctor. The entire 15 minute visit was spent by this doctor shouting at her, berating her for going to the ER for high blood pressure. She was mighty ashamed of herself for being so dumb. My precious wife died two weeks later. This doctor received his medical degree at Dartmouth, he is board certified, still practices at Health Net. And still works at Torrance Memorial Hospital. I would say something is wrong that a misfit could pass muster with all the examining barriers.
Very poor doctor. Totally lacking in medical judgement and human connection. His views differ from mainstream medicine. While modern medicine would say a sudden unexplainable violent increase in blood pressure requires emergency attention, he believes it is a routine situation and should wait for the next available doctor appointment. A real life threatening situation he contends should be treated as a routine. Also he knows more about medicine than any other medical professional. Save your life by avoiding this charlatan at all cost.
Listened and answered questions. Easy to talk to.
Doctor Solderlund is utterly unprofessional based on my wife's experience with him. After a hospital emergency room visit, Dr. Solderlund was required to do a follow-up to determine the cause of a sudden dramatic rise in blood pressure to 212/112. Instead he used the entire 15 minute visit to holler, yes, actually shouting at her. She was given no opportunity to reply, to justify her ER hospital visit. Seven days later she returned to the same hospital ER room where after several hours she was pronounced dead.
