South Bay Tmj, Sleep, Headache & Orofacial Pain Institute's Online Review Report Card

It's been a wonderful experience with Dr. (Paul) Grin and his staff. My left side jaw has been partially locked since December 2024. I've been living with TMJ pain, discomfort, sleep apnea, and bruxism for the last 10-15 years. These have been an on and off recurring problems for me, but I finally sought professional help. Dr. Grin helped me set up a plan to get past all of it. Today, about 6 months after my first appointment, I've regained a few millimeters of jaw movement. Baby steps, but I doubt I would have gotten anywhere on my own. I sleep better and more restfully than any time in recent memory. I'm grateful for everything Dr. Grin and his staff have done for me! As for the logistical stuff, it's been fantastic. Appointments are easy to make and time slots are readily available. Maybe time slots 2-3 weeks out is the norm to expect here. Never had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen. Appointments are never rushed. That is probably one of the best aspects of being a patient here. You can ask all the questions you want and Dr. Grin brings a very friendly and natural bedside manner to address all of it. It's actually important to remember that a lot of this TMJ stuff does not have any quick fixes, so long term treatment plans and lifestyle changes do matter. Plenty of parking in the lot, although easy to miss if you're driving too fast on Torrance Blvd.

I had seen many specialists for my TMJ pain before coming across Dr. Grin. I came into his office with pain so severe that I was struggling to chew my food. Dr. Grin figured out that my pain was coming from a misalignment in my jaw. After a few months of wearing the splint he made for me, my pain has decreased by over 80%. It is now very manageable and I'm able to chew my food again. He's wonderful and I cannot thank him and his staff enough!

WARNING DO NOT GO HERE!! I was told by 2 other dr’s in Torrance not to go to this practice but I was desperate and in pain and now feel I was completely scammed by this TMJ practice. I saw Dr Eric Grin for an initial appt and they did ct scans at their office. At the follow up appt, I expected to discuss a treatment plan and recommendations and I received neither. I asked a lot of questions and received vague answers, info readily available online, no recommendation of a night guard (but was later told he documented that recommendation in my file). I am disputing the charges on my credit card and filing a complaint with medical board, it was that bad.

I cannot say enough nice things about this amazing group. I've always had headaches, debilitating migraines and then TMJ. Dr. Grin helped me with all of it! He is kind and caring and will not give up until he finds a solution! My quality of life has improved since he has helped me manage my pain. The staff is so wonderful and treat me like I am family! I am so very grateful to have found Dr. Grin and his beautiful team

Dr. Paul Grin and his staff are very competent and caring. Dr. Grin worked with me to really alleviate my TMJ. He gently convinced me that a night guard would greatly help. I was resistant for years because I sleep so poorly in general. But he worked and worked over several visits to make sure it was comfortable and well fitting. When I explained that the guard fit differently when I was lying down vs sitting up, he adjusted the chair so I could lie down and test the adjusted fit. I NEVER wait more than the few minutes it takes to check in to see the doctor. His office team is so efficient, kind, and helpful. After a year, my TMJ is so much better now. I highly recommend Dr. Grin and his staff.

From the moment you walk into the office you encounter a very friendly & helpful staff. The office has a zen mood with the tranquil water fountain. Dr. Grin is the best! Dr Grin and his staff are extremely professional and thorough. He takes the time to explain his findings and answers all your questions. The office is clean and calming which puts you at ease when in pain. This is the first time I've received a solid diagnosis and a treatment plan that I felt was tailored toward me.

Dr Grin and staff are excellent! I spent months getting bounced around my HMO network trying to find a specialist that could help with my extreme jaw pain. No one was able to even provide a suitable diagnosis. Someone recommended I try Dr Grin and I'm very glad I did! He and his staff were extremely helpful and friendly. After one look at my imaging, he was able to patiently explain some detailed information on my condition no one else had been able to identify. Although my condition is serious and degenerative, he recommended a simple, non-surgical treatment that has me basically pain free after 6 months. I highly recommend!

Dr Grin and his staff have been wonderful. I've had issues with snoring and tried the over-the-counter, online, snore mouth guards and they didn't help much and don't last for more than a year if you're lucky. Dr Grin did an MRI and made a custom mouth guard that can be adjusted in millimeters to allow your body to properly adjust over time, and it has nearly eliminated my snoring. The custom mouth guard will also last 5+ years at least. My wife is much happier, and it's improved my sleep as well. Thanks Dr. Grin!

TMJ: I had been suffering from my first onset of TMJ for about 6 months. I had tried various solutions, including introducing a mouth guard from my Dentist - but the pain and sharp snapping in my jaw continued. I was very fortunate to be referred to Dr. Grin by my Dentist. Dr. Grin specializes in TMJ and put me through a series of oral facial x-ray/scans and a few tests and results showed severe arthritis. He put together a comprehensive plan to address the issues and 6 months later, I am recovering. The pain has subsided and there is improvement in the functioning of my jaw. I am very grateful for his expertise.
