DON'T BE FOOLED. There are a lot of complaints on yelp about the front desk and billing. And just like myself, we kept coming back taking it because Dr. Wilson is a great Dr. As indicated this has been going on for years, and ultimately it is his business and if he didn't approve of this behavior there would have been change a long time ago. His staff is his bulldogs to keep his hands clean. Unfortunately there always comes a time, you push someone too far and eventually they won't be back. I guess business is that great they can afford to continuously treat their patients the way that they do. Sadly, it's all about money and not the care of his patients specially his established ones who get it worse.A long time patient for since about 2006. Perfect for my olive skin and had to have a few growth removals, I didn't trust any other Dr. to do. After several years no issues. My first encounter, Dr Wilson removed a growth. He told me a timeline to come in or risk scarring. We discussed my work schedule because it's rigorous with travel and said it will not be an issue. When I called to schedule which wasn't last minute the front desk refused to work it out. I said the Dr said he would accommodate and I asked if she could please leave a message for him and she said she could, but it wouldn't matter, he would not return unless emergency. After rearranging my schedule which was costly to accommodate his and over a month of anxiety about scarring they finally got me in. I can't remember who stitched me but I did have concerned with the ends of the incision. It was his nurse who removed my stitches and it was more painful then previous which was him before. She hurt me, left 2 painful open holes on each end (which was my concern) and she didn't seem to like me or her job. Although the scar is good the edges at each end is not and I will need to get some scar revision. The attitude was unnecessary I literally had to beg to be seen for stitch removal. My 2nd issue was being reported to collections for this visit when I never received a call or notice. I let this go because it was pathologist and mistakes happened, (not on my part as I pay my bills when I know about them) I paid and ultimately it was removed from my credit file. My last straw was a couple weeks ago I had an apt that originally took 2- 3 months to get in. The Drs office cancelled a day before and rescheduled. I was accommodating as I had to rework my schedule again for this Dr as well including travel time to see him. When I made my appointment they asked what my insurance was. I let them know BCBS PPO. Asked would you like my insurance info in advance to assure they accept. She responds no we accept and will get it when you come in. Once I get there, she ask for my insurance card and ID and to fill out new form. When I showed her my insurance card, she says to me snarly we don't take Covered California. You will need to pay in full today. I asked "why didn't you tell me this when I scheduled?" Silence. I told you my insurance when I scheduled. If you know that you don't take BCBS PPO Covered CA then they need to confirm this on the phone prior to scheduling. They treat BSBS PPO Covered Ca like welfare. I pay almost $500 dollars a month for a $1,000 dollar PPO plan. You can not receive unless you work. As a self employed small minority business owner who survived this Covid crisis, who supports other small minority owned businesses such as Dr Wilson I am appauled and refuse to continue to give my business. I would have gladly worked something out but don't treat me like I am on welfare and I am the one with the problem. It is these medical, health insurance providers and the government with the problem and I am disgusted that unfortunately this Dr supports treating his patients in this matter and its all over money because he gets paid. Maybe they don't get paid what other insurance providers payout (private) but that is an issue his office should be taking up on a legislative level. I started with him on a PPO years ago paying my own insurance as a self employed business owner before the medical political madness and I haven't changed. It's the high cost that gov had to get involved and force many of us onto Covered CA if we want decent health care. As for the front desk her excuse for her rude actions was "they had me down as a cash patient prior". You clearly asked what my insurance was on the phone and I told you so you were not expecting me to pay cash. You thought you force me to pay cash and didn't care about my time or my choice. I could have gone elsewhere "in network" or even possibly paid cash and prepared had you told me upfront. Again business is this great you can afford to treat customers like that, best of luck. You lost me and a great number reputable referrals, my family members who by the way are private insurance holders through their corporate employers. Since that's the only patients you accept or cash.
I hope Dr. Wilson reads this as his staff are the worst of the worst. Anyone reading this, please see a different doctor. I should of known better when there's only 3 stars for this place. The blonde very older lady is extremely rude and should not be at the front desk. I called two weeks in advanced to get an appointment. An appointment was made and when I got there she said I'm not in their system. I wasted my time and my day off. If you do decide to make an appointment there, make sure they send you a confirmation email. Otherwise, your time and gas will be a waste. Front desk staff need more training on how to do their jobs.
Brought my son in to have a mass checked it was our first time here. Front receptionist Pilar was very rude from the moment we step foot inside. Not very welcoming AT ALL! I had to call my insurance to verify because Pilar said she was unable to verify through the automated system. Didn't seem like she wanted to try. Took me 10 min to get a rep on the phone and verify. She had this straight I don't want to be here face! I'm not sure if the other reviews were about her but if they were I wouldn't be surprised. It's unfortunate because the front staff is the one who gives the first impression although the doctors may be good they should definitely spend time with their staff and inform them how they can impact their office. I was referred by my sons absolutely wonderful pediatrician and I will definitely let her know my experience. As far as the NP he was good.
I had a minor surgery in the morning. By midafternoon I had blood all over my clothing. I had open stiches per the assistant. Blood was dripping out of me.It really scared the hell out of me.Never had a such bad experience!UNBELIEVABLE, really!!!!!!!!
Matt Olin, P.A. is terrific. He's compassionate, thorough and knowledgeable I've had only good experiences with him but the front office staff here has been difficult to deal with. There is one woman who faces front (don't know her name) and she literally treats me like a second class citizen. She has been rude to me on two separate appointments, and has not been helpful at all when I tried to understand how to solve the problem.
Best office staff, and MATTHEW is a gentleman.
One of the worst experiences with the front staff and the billing process has been an ongoing nightmare. It's absolute robbery that a 5 minute wart removal with liquid nitrogen is $210 + a $195 office visit. I would not recommend and I will not be returning.
I just had the best dermatologist experience of my life and I've had a lot of them. I saw the PA Matthew and he was meticulous to say the least and his bedside manner was just what the doctor ordered! Plus, the front desk ladies were so nice and personable. I'm stoked I finally found a dermatology office I can trust moving forward!
We love Dr. Wilson!! He is down to earth. He is generous with his time. I am a physician and I send all my patients to him. He is the only brown Dermatologist in the area. He is especially knowledgeable about pigmentation issues. I take my children to him. I highly recommend him!!
Dr. Wilson and his staff are amazing- kind and professional. I have had a couple melanoma that he has detected but looked fine to me. He doesn't just cut- he is very thorough and cautious. I would send anyone to him.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
