I had the best experience with Dr. Shin and found her very engaging. She really took her time with me and carefully listened to my concerns over my families heart health history. I recently lost my Mom to heart failure, my Dad past away at 59 from a heart attack and my 50 year old brother just suffered one. I needed to get myself checked out!She came up with a preventative plan that I am very pleased with and one that will hopefully put my mind at ease after a few test.I highly recommend her if you are looking for a cardiologist and am very happy she is my doctor.

Very confident, thorough, easy to communicate with. Reacts immediately to monitor new symptoms with follow-up procedures. The staff were efficient and friendly, overall great experience. I would absolutely recommend.

Dr. Shin is very practical. She is always patient with me, gives me all the time I need to ask any questions, and gives me honest and thoughtful answers . I never feel rushed. I leave every session completely satisfied with the experience. I learn what is important to me. She is very patient-oriented. When I first had my heat problem, I was anxious and afraid. She took away all of those feelings with her approach and her caring attitude.

Switching from Dr. Cohen to Dr. Shin was easy and delightful upon meeting Dr. Shin! Dr. Cohen was absolutely wonderful but moved out of state. I have significant trust in South Bay Heart. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with the entire staff.

I saw Dr. Shin several times in 2019 and decided to find a different cardiologist because she was always in a hurry and I didn't get a chance to ask questions. I took reports and records from a previous provider and a BP log the first visit & she quickly glanced at one or two then handed everything back to me. She spent 15 seconds, if that, looking at the results of my treadmill test then said see you in a year and quickly left the room. I have PVCs and my cholesterol was in the 200 range but she didn't prescribe medication. Because of my family history of heart issues and my cholesterol level, my new cardiologist prescribed a low dose cholesterol medication (cholesterol is now in the normal range), did an echocardiogram, EKGs, treadmill test and sent me for a heart CT. She is much more thorough and takes time to listen. While I have no doubt that Dr. Shin is smart, I just didn't feel that she was thorough enough and didn't take time to listen. Bedside manner matters & I think part of a doctor's job is to make a patient feel comfortable and taken care of.
