My daughter was in the ER last week, she had swollen joints and was in a lot of pain. Previously, my son had been diagnosed with Strep A, so naturally I would think that my daughter may have this diagnosis as well. I asked if what she had could be strep and Dr. Congress said absolutely not. I politely asked for a step test and he said that he would do a step test, but even if the results were positive he would RULE IT OUT as being a possible cause for my daughters illness. As swab AND a blood test should have been performed. Only the swab was done and it came back negative much to his delight. 1 week later when I finally get home to my pediatrician she does a blood test and after many nights of high fever and pain the actual results are in - STREP A!!!! Left untreated in a child my daughters age, strep can cause many life threatening issues. Thankfully I have a very competent and thorough pediatrician.Please think twice before seeing Dr. Congress. He was not thorough, he was reckless. He told me countless disorders and symptoms that my daughter DID NOT have and would then say “but it’s not that”. If he would have just done a blood test to check to see if it was possibly strep, my daughter wouldn’t have gone through an extra week of high fevers, headaches, chills, body aches and frustration.

YOU WERE A DOCTOR AND A GENTLEMAN. YOU HAVE MANY DECADES OF WISDOM THAT BENEFITED ME TODAY AND ALL YOUR PATIENTS FOR THE FUTURE. I HOPE EVERYONE APPRECIATES YOU AS MUCH AS I DO.
