Anna Liu's Online Review Report Card

I'm a new patient & scheduled to see Dr. Liu this morning for a wellness screening appt. I may not be able to speak on behalf of the others who have posted their reviews on google but I will definitely say that I had a positive experience w/ Dr. Liu during my appointment. I came 10 minutes late, unable to locate her office but she still took the time to see me for the appointment. She asked me genuine & personable questions related to my lifestyle and was very understanding and receptive to everything I said :) In addition, her front office receptionist was also very polite & hospitable. I actually work in the medical field & have met many physicians who are nothing like Dr. Liu. Her kindness is a rare gem found in the doctor directory. I would definitely recommend her & give her 5 stars 🌟

Super rude and catty- called me immediately with a bias in her tone, angrily stuttering because i tried to reschedule my appointment on the zocdoc app. “you just can’t do that” even though the app didn’t say anything like that. there is a big button to reschedule your appointment with no warnings. super unprofessional. i felt like i was getting scolded in high school again. i needed to reschedule because i am SICK and don’t want to give it to anyone else, but before even giving me one second to talk/ explain myself she says “i’m just going to cancel your appointment. you should just go see a real gynecologist.” what ?? the only words i managed to get in the conversation was “okay thank you” before the call ended. apparently she isn’t qualified enough to do “real gynecologist” work- even though i only booked the appointment for services she had LISTED in her practice. i booked with Anna Liu because she was rated very high on Zocdoc, and was expecting a kind female doctor that wouldn’t judge me for my medical issues. Unfortunately I got Anna’s attitude before my appointment even took place. I’m glad my appointment got cancelled, because i know i wouldn’t have been treated fairly if it went through.

Not sure about others but have been coming to Anna for 3 years, she's very nice and tries to help holistically.

I had an appointment scheduled for 12pm and they called me at 11:45am to tell me they don't accept my insurance. The appointment had been booked for over a week and, despite the man on the phone's claim that he had been "trying to contact me", they made no actual attempt to reach out to me. No texts, no phone calls, no emails. They confirmed the appointment on Zocdoc (which showed them as an in-network provider) but apparently didn't bother to check my insurance until minutes before my appointment. I was already on the freeway, halfway there when they called. The man didn't even apologize. If I were you I would not go here, they are clearly terribly managed and highly unprofessional.

After I changed my health plan, I changed my family doctor to Anna Liu by searching on the web myself, she is a great doctor and very nice to patient, and I had called her several times after working hours and she answered my call without any displeasure and provide me with assistance right away, I really appreciated that.

I’ve been going to Doctor Liu for over 6 years. SHE’S THE BEST! Don’t believe any of the negative reviews here. She actually takes the time to understand you holistically but asking about your family, Mental health, eating habits, professional life and more. I get my flu shots and blood work prescribed by her as well. I’ve moved cities and still stayed with her after having 2 kids. Her staff (Pete especially) are excellent and extremely responsive. Thank you Doctor Liu for everything you do. She even gives me free samples for different products everytime I go in - lotion, vitamins, Tylenol, etc

This is my most painful physical examination. She does not ask about my physical condition, she prescribes medicine every time. She has a very bad attitude and is not gentle! There is no professional ethics of a doctor! I don't understand why she is a doctor!

I typically don't take the time to write negative reviews. I understand that people have off days, I understand that we're struggling through a pandemic, and it is never my goal to hurt someone in any way. However, I firmly believe that Dr. Liu is not to be trusted with the lives of other human beings. I've had three experiences with her now - one visit, two phone calls. Happy to describe them below to provide context. Doctor Visit - Went in for an infection and before she took any patient inventory she was writing me prescriptions for drugs I didn't need or ask for. She didn't take my height or weight, she didn't ask for family history, allergies, anything. She started to ask me questions about depression when I don't have a family history and I wasn't showing symptoms. She charged me for a depression screen without my consent. She sent me home with antibiotics to address the infection and prescribed me birth control pills that I did not ask for and provided little to no information or context as to why she chose that specific birth control, why she wanted to prescribe me birth control in the first place (I already have an IUD), and Trazadone for sleeping (didn't ask for it). She did not explain side effects or answer any questions I asked. Very little conversation. Very little patient care. Phone Call #1 - I developed an additional infection due to the antibiotics and when I called she didn't really have a solid answer as to what I should do next. She was unclear with her instructions and prescribed me more medication. I had to call my former doctor to ask what I should do. She advised me to stop seeing Dr. Liu. Phone Call #2 - I called to address the depression screening charge. I didn't ask for it, it was unnecessary. When I called, before I gave Dr. Liu my name, she said "You've tested positive for ...." I couldn't quite hear what she said because of how much noise was in the background but I was furious. She blurted out another patient's results at me without asking me who was calling or simply checking caller ID. When I said something she said "Isn't this PATIENT NAME?" So she not only gave me test results that weren't my own, but violated HIPPA by disclosing test results for another patient with their full name. I let her know how displeased I was with my experience. She apologized with a simple "Sorry." I didn't feel as though it was genuine. I think she means well, but I wouldn't trust my life in her care.

Very unprofessional. She tell me to Google myself and give me a copy of Wikipedia.

My psychiatrist Enrico Balcos has gone missing as is evidenced by other patients on HealthGrade and YELP reviews. I have been seeing him for 6 years. His website is still taking appts. His office vmail is full. I waited 2 hours for him for my tele-health med refills appt yesterday (8/10/21) and he did not show up. I began a new job and needed a refill for my Adderall which I only took previously for school when I need it. I have paper work that I am diagnosed with ADHD. I have been diagnosed with ADHD since I was 8 years old. HealthNet told me to have my primary care doctor refill this med (Adderall) for me (since Dr. Enrico Balcos went missing) and this is ANNA LIU, MD. After many phone calls to request this, Dr. Liu finally called me. DR. ANNA LIU “REFUSED” to refill my Adderall. HealthNet stated that ANNA LIU can prescribe my ADDERALL. It’s in all my medical records AND on my pharmacy record. (URGENT CARE doctors are not allowed to prescribe ADHD medications.) I then spoke to Dr. Liu’s office staff Peter about contacting my attorney for assistance due to her refusing to provide me with my MEDICALLY NECESSARY MEDICATION. He gave me a 4:30 pm appt. with Dr. Liu which Dr. Liu then cancelled. FIVE MINUTES LATER, ***ANNA LIU DROPPED ME from being my primary care physician. THIS IS AN ETHICAL NEGLIGENCE OF MY URGENT HEALTH NEEDS by ANNA LIU. ANNA LIU also took a phone call and spoke to my mom without my permission. This is a HIPPA VIOLATION. ANNA LIU should not be practicing medicine given these behaviors. I have documentation of all the above, and will be making a complaint.
