List of Fouzia Asif's Reviews
I've asked several times for a hand surgeon referral. She referred a doctor in fullerton. I asked to refer a different doctor as it's a way from me and takes about 40 minutes to get there. I told her I'd prefer a doctor closer like in orange, Irvine, Santa Ana. She doesn't respond very well. In the meantime my hands hurt. It takes a month or so to get an appointment and she is delaying my time to ...
If I could give 0!!!! Zero rating I would. Dr. Asif is rude, dismissive and belittling. Refused to hear me on my severe health issues. I know my body! When I asked to see a specialists she refused to issue a referral. She was 2 hours late to a telehealth call. So disrespectful and a waste of my time. I finally had to go to ER to get help! I had surgery the next day. This so called physician needs her license revoked. She does not follow the Hippocratic Oath. What happened to “Do no harm”. Stay away from her if you value your quality of life!!!
I had to see Dr. Asif because my regular physician was unavailable for an appointment. When scheduling the appointment, I made sure to explain I was coming in because I needed to renew existing prescriptions (which I do every year in December) and that I wanted to do my physical because I was already going to be there. I take medication (ambien) that you need an in person appointment to renew otherwise I wouldn’t have gone in at all because of COVID. At the appointment, Dr. Asif refused to renew prescriptions that my regular doctor had been prescribing me for the last 3-4 years. I could understand the refusal had I been a new patient or this was a request for a new medication but I have been a patient of this physician for the last 8 years and my medical conditions are well documented. Dr. Asif explained to me that she will not renew prescriptions for opioids or benzodiazepines. I have no idea why she would tell me she refuses to prescribe opioids considering I didn’t ask about them and I’ve never taken them before. When I asked her what I’m supposed to do if she won’t renew the medication my doctor has been prescribing me for years, she said she would write me a prescription for a sleeping aid. She repeated several times that this medication was not addictive which, combined with her earlier remarks about opioids, makes me think she was insinuating I’m an addict. I asked her about side effects of this new medication and how to take it. She said there were no concerns or side effects and that I would take it as needed. When I looked up the medication she prescribed me after my appointment, trazodone, I found out it is an anti-depressant that has tons of potential side effects and needs to be taken regularly. As stated in my file, I am already taking an antidepressant that is working fine. I just need help on nights where I absolutely cannot fall asleep. Which is why my doctor, after much trial and error with other solutions, prescribed me ambien. At no point did Dr. Asif tell me this was an antidepressant or explain any potential side effects even after being directly asked. I now have to miss yet another day of work to come back for another appointment with my regular physician to get this fixed. I’m glad I decided to look into the medication instead of blindly trusting her recommendation. Horrid experience and I feel extremely embarrassed that a doctor would insinuate I’m an addict because I’m trying to refill prescriptions I’ve been taking for years.
Dr. Asif is the best. She listens and does a thorough exam. I had a bruised foot that my prior doctor had diagnosed as an allergic reaction to a bug bit (really?). After another week of hobbling along I had to get it attended to as I was going on a trip. After her exam, she sent me off for an xray, which confirmed that fortunately it was not broken. Dr. Asif wrapped my foot, showing me the technique, and within days my foot was so much better. I recommend her wholeheartedly.
Dr. Asif is very attentive, patient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her.
I took my elderly mom, who is showing signs of mild dementia, to see Dr. Asif, who is also a geriatrician. The first visit went pretty well, with Dr. Asif making some suggestions about medications. Unfortunately, when a short time later, my mom had sudden back pain and we went back, Dr. Asif dropped the ball, initially failing to prescribe a course of action to diagnose the problem and adequately address my mom's pain. It caused my mom needless trauma and suffering. Very disappointing. Office staff is nice enough, however there was a troubling disconnect in terms of communication regarding patient paperwork/referral between the staff and the xray department, which is literally a stone's throw across the lobby from the front desk.
Terrible doctor who gave her a medical license???!!
I chose Dr Asif as a new doctor for my 86 year old mother partly based on her geriatric background. About 3 weeks ago, my mother went to our pharmacy to pick up her prescriptions. Her blood pressure and anti depressant medications were denied by the Dr office citing that she was no longer a patient. My mom has mailed a letter, handcarried 2 notes into the office, I've called. .. 3 weeks! We have been assured of return calls and that the matter had been resolved. As of today, not resolved. I will be looking for a new doctor for my mom immediately. Beyond ridiculous!
She took time, was thorough and listened. She is kind and caring.
I saw Dr. Asif as a new patient and really liked her. She was patient, got to know me and offered me her perspective on a couple things I had questions about. She squeezed in an extra OBGYN exam for me despite the fact that it was a first time visit. I normally have pain when I have these exams, but she was fast and I didn't feel anything.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
