List of Bruce R. Carlton's Reviews
I have been seeing Dr. Carlton for many years and have never been able to find another dermatologist with Dr. Carlton’s high level of expertise. Yes he does run late but that is the only negative. He is a brilliant doctor who really cares about his patients takes time to listen and is very thorough. Dr. Carlton also stays current on the latest medical treatments and discoveries. He really knows his stuff.
Dr Carlton is a cool guy but no one should have wait an hour when they have an appointment. I walked out on my second appointment because they left me waiting for almost an hour. No communication in this Drs office think twice before you go here
I think Dr. Carlton is amazing. He takes the time to really diagnose and treat your problem. I had severe dandruff and scales and my hair was falling out in clumps. I lost about 60% of my hair. He encouraged me to take a multitude of blood tests fungus tests and even a scalp biopsy. I was finally diagnosed with Serrobic Dermatitis which led to me having Tellogen Effluvian hair shedding. He also has a terrific bedside manner. He makes conversation and really explains your diagnosis and treatment plan. I am proud to say that my hair is now growing and it is so thick now. I know this is off topic but I have to admit I have a crush on him because he is so likeable. And I am half his age. Well anyways I highly recommend Dr. Carlton

My experience is the same as the others, made to wait over an hour for appointments. Bad reviews are for a reason, think twice before you go here.
This dermatologist postpones giving complete information to force extra appointments. The wait, including waiting room and exam room is 2 hours. The exam beds have dirty pads and the paper does not cover them thoroughly. He does not know enough about women's appointments, meaning for instance, he carries on discussion during and immediately after the woman-specific exam and the woman has to talk while her knees are still up. The woman should be allowed to at least sit up or better, dress and then speak in the office setting. While speaking, he will frequently close his eyes for several seconds, as if that is giving the woman privacy? I think it comes across as creepy. I recommend finding someone else. However, the nurse that was there was very professional and considerate.
Active Duty Military stay away from this office. **Do Not Pay a "Co Pay" of $12**. Not a professional office at all. From the first contact it went all down hill. The doctor called to cancel the appointment and asked to see my daughter in an hour.- They say to cancel an appointment it must be 72 hrs. But when the doctor calls it's within an hour? Moving on The building is not well maintained. The office is not either. It is a small cramped office with a 20" TV/ VCR in the corner. A bunch of excessive FREE Sample/ drug pusher pamphlets cluttering up the front counter. Messy walls plastered with old certificates in incorrect frame sizes and an OSHA poster. It seems like the staff only uses the office space part-time. So, from the appearance I hesitated. Did mention the office is cramped? The front desk lady had me fill out forms and then told me there is a $12 Co-Pay. I told her I was Tricare Prime. She said she deals with Tricare all the time and they pay. I said, I do too and as Active Duty I have never paid. She basically said if I dont pay then my daughter wont be seen. In the end I refused to pay and said I would call up my insurance and walked out. Later on I did and they confirmed I was not to pay.Unprofessional and untidy. Find another skin doctor.
Don't waste your time on coming here. This office makes you wait for a long time. We had an appointment time of 10:15am. We arrived at 10am and left the office at 1:15pm. Keep in mind that the doctor was only with us for 15-20 min. WAIT TIME WAY TOO LONG.The receptionist was very friendly but the assistant i can tell was very irritated with the doctor which caused her to be rude to patients.
Should've believed the negative reviews. Ignore anything positive said about this office or this Doc. I arrived a few minutes early for an 1130 appointment. After waiting over an hour I was finally moved to an exam room that, frankly, stunk. I had a cold at the time so I can only imagine what it smelled like for a healthy person. The table I was seated on had a pad on it that looked unclean through the paper roll laid over the table, the rest of which was on the floor rather than attached to the table. The nurse (not sure what she was as she didn't introduce herself) ushered me into the room and rushed me through the reason for my visit. She seemed annoyed, flustered and was literally running from one side of the small office to the other while she and Dr Carlton yelled at each other to communicate.Common courtesy would indicate that you call patients and advice them of the delay. 2 patients came while I was waiting that apparently had been waiting earlier in the day. Both ended up walking out. After waiting another 30 minutes in the exam room I followed their lead. I rescheduled but after thinking it over for another minute or so, I won't be back.I can understand that late patients (which was the excuse given for the 90 minute delay) can cause issues with a schedule, but what I can't excuse is staff running around, yelling at each other, and failing to own that you are either overbooked or have time management issues.Regardless, I'm going to request a different referral to another doctor. He may or may not be a great doc, unfortunately either he and/or his staff are costing him his reputation.
wow, i see nothing has changed (weird)I tried to be seen by the doctor there about 11 years ago. I had to bring my small child with me, they triple booked the appointment. I waited an hour and a half, still had to wait. I got frustrated and left. What a nightmare.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
