I've been his patient for years. He's caring and knowledgeable. Other complaints may be the fault of the HMO and the larger broken healthcare system and not the Dr.

DR. Downs treated me for 7 months during a very difficult medical condition. He provided me with exceptional care. He made himself available for questions any time I was feeling anxious about my progress. He provided top notch care. Big kudos to Dr. Downs and his lovely staff for what they did for me while under their care. I would not be where I am now health wise without his diligent attention to my medical situation.

Agree with many of the critical comments here. I was a former patient of him many years back and don't have a high opinion about him. Some people should not be Doctors and in my opinion, he is one of them! He prescribed Medications that had tremendous side effects. Surprised he is still out there but possibly due to treating HMO patients with marginal insurance, the complaints are limited.

I think he's okay. I've been seeing him for awhile for just normal things related to a pain disorder. I've had a recent problem with my back and it took far too long to get into physical therapy, although I don't know if that was a lack of communication on my part or his unwillingness to act. He referred me out to an idiot for pain management. But again, I don't know if anyone had brought it to his attention before me that the person he was referring patients out to was incompetent. All in all, he's part of my HMO. It certainly could be better perhaps, but it could also be a lot worse. And right now Facey can't get their act together. My observation (nothing he said). He's over busy. Again, nothing he said, just my observation.
