Lavc Student Service Center's Online Review Report Card

I go to the library to find peace and do my homework. The library closes at 8 and the white lady was pushing me to leave.. it wasn't even 8 I give myself 2 min to pack up because that's all that takes. She was really tough with me saying I needed to pack up. When she saw I was still using my time left she gave me a long stare and told me to pack up again. I told her I still have time left she was only rushing me cause I was the last one. But I know it's cause she wants to leave early she's use to leaving 15 min early. I never leave later than they close I always make sure to have 2 min to pack before I leave. I don't see what her problem is that I stay till 7:58pm. But as someone who uses the library away to be from home she really made it feel unwelcoming. Last time I left my wallet and I came back around 7:50 and they closed it already. I had to call the sheriffs.

The paralegal course that I'm taking is absolutely amazing the professors are all so knowledgeable and beyond even words that I can describe. I have learned so much from all of them and I feel like I'm in such good hands with all the information that they are teaching us. I highly recommend this course if you'd like to be a paralegal and you're interested in law. It's the only one that I feel is the best in the Tri-County area. Professor Arnold professor López and Sharon have been amazing and everyone else that was not named have been amazing as well. I can't wait to graduate in December and get going at the law firm Im already working for. Get signed up and get going because they will definitely help you in your next step in your career.

I know nothing about the actual school, so I gave this post the average rating. Know that if you come here for a baseball game, this is a super nice turf baseball field with ABSOLUTELY NO SHADE. The few yellow flowered trees on the sidewalk between fields provide a bit of shade, however you can't see the field and the trees are infested with bees. Bring an umbrella.

Worst nursing program ever! They actively try to fail people here. from the director to the theory instructors to the clinical instructors... all of them are evil, vile, and bitter!

To be quite honest I have heard mixed reviews about this school and I can tell you that the bad reviews I must disagree with. This school has given me everything I can ask for and has many amenities other schools don't have. The professors here are all great at what they do and they do care. The facilities are all real clean, the staff are nice, the location of the campus is also nice. Parking is plentiful and the parking pass is super cheap. As a transfer student that graduated from here and was accepted to UCSD fall 2020, this place will hold a special place on my life. Thank you valley college and the wonderful opportunities you gave me, and thank you for helping me grow and achieve my education as best as it was offered. For anyone doubtful of the school, the resources here is where you should begin: counseling to give you incite on what courses to take, take the personality test (or something like that) to help you decide which major fits you most. Your counselor will be your best friend, utilize the library and don't take the school for granted. PS parking permits at universities range around $250 per quarter/semester

Info for workout enthusiasts: Want to know what sucks? being a student at lavc and not being allowed to use the south gym equipment room. You have to be an athlete to use the gym. I've snuck in a few times to the south gym and the room is big+no Stairmaster. **Fun fact about this school is they have three rooms with gym equipment. One room is by the bleachers near Monarch Stadium, next room is in the hallway of the North Gym, third room is in the South Gym next to the basketball courts.

I have been going to lavc since 2018 when I was a high school student taking summer college classes. The athletics dept. is only for athletes. During registration day or certain school events the school serves free subway sandwiches. I know practically everyone here from my two old high schools. The people in the welcome center admin rec office are very helpful. The computer lab second floor of library is amazing to study in however the new librarian is not someone I'm fond of. Some things I'm surprised other students do not know about when trying to adapt to being a full time college student is:1. football games are free just show up with a student ID or class schedule list printed2. use ratemyprofessor religiously3. go to trio and see their bookshelf and ask to borrow a book for free prior to buying anything at the super expensive book store4. consider printing out a map using the lavc website, saving a copy of the map off of google or getting a free printed map of lavc from the admin office and actually mapping out all your classes so you won't be lost like ever! 5. Someone told me about this resource close to the community services center there is a daycare for kids and you can work there if you take more then 6 units in childhood dev classes, you can apply for a student worker position at trio, Academic Affairs office, or EOPS financial help office or as a tutor, and lastly you can go to the family resource center close to the community services center Tues and Thurs I heard they provide free food. **The campus is really pretty so give it a chance. If you want more aesthetic pics def check out the second floor of the Academic Affairs Building.

Professor KATHY HOSSEINI, anatomy, physio, etc... AvoidDo not takeOh that voice, was my favorite nap time of the day.Where do I begin? Possibly the worst teacher I've had in my life. Lectures are long and boring. She goes through the slides really fast, so write quickly. Goes off topic a lot. Didn't really learn anything. Not interesting at all. Sorry, but I don't recommend her.Her exams are copies from the publisher of the text, that means you can buy them online for like $20-30, cheaper than buying the text and you have all the answers. ha!
