I completely ruptured a tendon in my foot. Dr. Ferkel said I absolutely needed surgery. I went for a second opinion. Dr. #2 said the tendon right next to that tendon does the same job; it might well take over for the ruptured one and physical therapy to build up the ankle muscles could make you functionally the same as if the whole tendon had healed. He said it might not work but as long as you're improving, why not see if you can avoid surgery? After five months of PT, there is zero pain, the foot and ankle are strong and stable and nine months after injury, I am back to full hiking on all kinds of uneven surfaces. A friend of a friend had the exact same injury at about the same time. Coincidentally, he went to Dr. Ferkel who said you must have surgery. The man did not get a second opinion and he has been suffering ever since surgery and now needs another surgery. I'm not saying PT would have worked for this man. But get a second opinion. Always get a second opinion.

El Dr Ferkel operated on my foot, I lost sensation for 2 fingers but what could I do with my normal life despite having pain When running at work I fell and my face is disfigured

Ed , your probably a bit " weak". Ferkel does what he must to diagnose. Ferkel has operated on me three times. When all others said amputate, Ferkel said " I have a idea". He saved my foot from amputation. He is a master surgeon. The movie industry, Stunt performers, pro athletes use this man and SCOI. THANK YOU DR. FERKEL for your insistance on bringing the best, most advanced, and pioneering treatments to human beings.

With a new injury I got scheduled with his assistant. Time waste. Not the urgency for injuries. The first time I had a breakage all was good. This time they were obviously to busy. Will change the doctor.

I give him 2 stars because he did my surgery but other then that with patient care and understanding a patient I give Zero stars . He don’t take you serious . If your attorney recommends you to him don’t go to him . He’s gonna be rude to you once he’s over you and stop the funds for you if you’re on worker’s compensation. Beware!!

Went to see Dr Ferkel for feet pain, he conducted x-rays of my knees and feet, saw they were worn and painful with prior miniscus tear. After the exam he sticks his thumb into my miniscus knee joint that sent me realing with pain and then has the gall to ask me if that hurt, real piece a work this guy is, likes to inflict pain on people. Filed a complaint with the AMA with his license review. Avoid this doctor like the plague.

This office is unprofessional and a big waste of time. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, you will be treated like an animal waiting in line for hours to get no end results. Terrible!!!

I drove over a hour away and got there 30 min early!! I waited over a hour before i asked if they had any idea when i was getting in she said 20 min ! After waiting 30 min longer i came back and asked again and she said i have no idea? He is always like this and he sucks! Don't ever come here you will wait all afternoon and they have no when u will get in! I left and never coming back
