I was informed this doctor ONLY sees patients by telecommunication visits. Decided not o waste my time and scheduled with an office that actually sees patients. REVIEW NOT BASED ON SEEING DOCTOR - ONLY BASED UPON A GASTRO DR. NOT SEEING PATIENTS IN PERSON - FULL STOP

Over the past several weeks I have had to be in contact with Island View GI Associates for treatment and procedures. Most of the contact has been via text, which was usually very frustrating. However, when I needed answers and help, Dr. Lyche's Medical Assistant, Kathy was there for me. She was compassionate and understanding. I thank and commend Kathy for her professional and caring response.

Assembly line Procedures. Impossible to talk to doctor on phone. Torturous Robo call Regime Impossible to Navigate. I have instructed my primary care Physician To find suitable replacement.

Dr. Pedraza is an amazing doctor. He is extremely personable and thorough with his work. He cares about his patients and makes sure they are taken care of. I would highly recommend him. His staff is amazing and very helpful too.

Dr Pedraza is hands down the best doctor I've ever had and I've had ALOT of doctors. He is such a knowledgeable and thorough person but also has an amazing bedside manner. If you are someone like me who gets very nervous seeing medical professionals, you are safe here. I was a hot mess, crying and panicked when I stepped in his office. He had a way to calm me down and talk me through testing, options and all outcomes. I've never felt so educated and informed on my own medical status before. He truly is a gift to Ventura county.

Dr Pedraza walked me (Batya Amit) through an endoscopy which I chose to do without sedation today. He kept eye contact, got me meditating, and encouraged me verbally all through the procedure. He calmed me when I was beyond stressed out and explained everything after it was done. He is clearly very skilled both in people skills and in medical expertise. I'm really glad that I read all the great reviews about him and chose him for my treatment.

I had an endoscopy today. I called yesterday to discuss whether to use sedation, and one staff member told me about how if I chose to do it without sedation, Dr Pedraza is the perfect doctor to do it with, because he would walk me through it. She gave me tips of what to do (focus on breathing and keep my head down) She had done 2 endoscopies without sedation. I went back and forth about it and then spoke to a nurse called Kim a couple of times. She discussed all my options like she was a friend. These people were so patient and so helpful when I was stressed out and taking up their time, that I felt cared for and calmer. Today I was set up to try without sedation, and if needed, get sedated. Dr. Pedraza patiently listened to my scared, pain in the neck, waffling thoughts, and then when we started the endoscopy, he encouraged me with eye contact, meditative breathing and non stop words of encouragement. I was able to do it without sedation, and knew it was totally because of him. I will have to have a second endoscopy in a couple of months and will try this again . Meanwhile I just am in awe of how human and nice and encouraging Dr. Pedraza and his staff are. It is nice and rare to have a combination of top quality medical expertise and decent human kindness and patience. You may not choose to do this without sedation, but you will still be dealing with kind, extremely skilled, staff! You can't go wrong with choosing this doctor and his support people.

Dr. Pedraza has treated my husband and me for several years. He's not only bright, compassionate, and straightforward, he also has a good sense of humor. If I have had a concern with a suggested procedure, I have been able to call him to discuss my apprehensions easily. I truly trust and appreciate his input. In fact, I have recommended him to others without hesitation.
