Steven M. Vines's Online Review Report Card

Sat INSIDE his exam room alone for 1 hr, 10 minutes and finally left. Dirty facility and dirty deed Dr. who perhaps has too many irons in the fire to provide quality service???

He better be good, he has cancelled 2 of 2 appointments with me and I am in pain.

I had foot surgery a few years back. Dr. Vines is a wonderful kind man, reasonable & from my results, a skilled surgeon. There is a caution however; his office manager is mean, in my opinion lazy, & doesn't take responsibility when making a critical mistake. I started to scheduled my appts on her days off, asked to speak w/Julie instead when I would call in. I sent a thank you card w/a gift included to Dr. Vines. Not even sure if the grouchy office manager passed it along to him. None of this is to discourage seeking Dr. Vines expertise. Just be aware if you are treated less than cordial, it's not you & ask to speak to Julie

My husband was too going to have toe surgery w/Dr. Vines. Unfortunately, he never returned to Dr. Vines because of Rosa's treatment of me. None of this is to discourage seeking Dr. Vines expertise. Dr. Steven M Vines is a greedy podiatrist that does not care about his patients for the pain that They are experiencing. I came to get my planter fasciitis examined with the expectations of getting an injection for the pain that I was in. I had explained this to the lady over the phone when I set my appointment. After speaking with Dr. Vines for about a half hour I find out that the only way I can get the shot on my initial visit is if I pay out of my pocket. He informed me that if I was injected with medicine on my initial visit that the insurance will not cover it. He then let me know that they will cover an x-ray on the first visit and insisted I got one although he thought it was unnecessary. I work over an hour away from his office and in order to come back for a second visit I would have to take an additional day off work. If you are in pain with your feet do not come to see Dr. Vines. Find a podiatrist who truly cares about how you feel and does not make your entire visit about how they get paid. Very unprofessional, no empathy, wasted my time!

Highly recommended. Dr. Vines is personable, thorough, professional and very knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain the issue in a manner which can be understood by a layman. He has offices in both Ventura and Oxnard. I found the Oxnard office staff to be very polite, courteous, and competent.

Dr. Vines is brilliant, articulate, well read & an excellent surgeon; possibly the best around. I believe his advanced skills in surgery allows him an elevated insight when dealing patients' long-term or short term problems on an everyday basis. In addition, he's just a really nice guy--a good man who deeply cares about his patients.

Unlike the other review, I have NEVER been dissatisfied with the office staff.....Once in a great while there has been a short wait...BUT...that is because if Dr. Vines needs to give a bit more attention to a patient then planned HE DOES and generaly without makeing them return. After 10 yrs with Dr. Vines the only reason I would change is if I moved out of the area. Here is a hint....if my insurance was no longer accepted by Dr Vines, I would still come here paying out of my own pocket, the service is that good. H.Harrison

Although I found Dr. Vines extremely knowledgable and helpful, his office staff was not friendly and sometimes rude. The office has a circus-like atmosphere, is noisy, and fairly unruly. The examining room I was in was dirty; paper and a paper clip was on the floor. A drug salesman was conducting business with the office help, complete with jokes and frivolity...very unprofessional.
