The nurse was nice but the orthopedic wasn't very "friendly" and I'm talking bout you wuu and we waited a bout an hour just for the doctor
Worst hospital in history you could be dying and no one would do anything to help u leave u in a hallway and never come back
We brought our daughter in for an outpatient, minimally invasive surgery yesterday morning. She is autistic and has severe anxiety, so we always request CHLA. I was a bit anxious about bringing her to VCMC considering the reviews and the fact that we had never been to this hospital before, but immediately upon checking in those nerves were gone. Every medical professional we came in contact with was absolutely amazing! They talked to her about each and every step and had such calm, kind demeanors. From pre-op to post-op I was in awe of how wonderful they are!! I couldn’t find a single negative if I really looked for one.
I wish I can give them a negative 5 stars because I was there for 3 days after my car accident and the staff was so rude and I had to call them 4 times and they did come in till 3 hours to help me get in to bed. This is the worst place I will never come back
I had the most horrible experience giving birth to my first child here. The lack of compassion, condescending nurses, and feeling discriminated. This was almost 7 years ago and my daughter was born pretty quickly after that I had many issues with the nurses. I remember wanting to take a shower and there was literally no towels anywhere I didn't even know if I was supposed to shower right after giving birth. I called and asked for towels and I remember clearly the nurse on the phone laughing outside my room saying "this isn't room service". I had a nurse come into the room while I was trying to breastfeed and ask me something I didn't immediately respond because I was breastfeeding and distracted without letting me answer immediately snaps and says "Do you speak English?" I was taken back. She was extremely rude and seemed completely bothered the whole time she was our nurse. Thinking back now I should've asked for a different nurse because no one should be treated that way during their first experience giving birth. Besides that and being given all the daughters keepsakes and personal information in spanish(Yes im Latino but I don't speak Spanish) It was a degrading experience that I wish was really different and hope no new moms to go through. This was 7 years ago things could've changed but that was my experience.
Nice employees on the outpatient side and usually in a timely manor. Have all my test done here.
Horrible place don’t go here if you don’t have to. It feels like a prison not a hospital. Community is across the street. Always go there. I’ve never in my life seen patients and family members treated so poorly. If you don’t have someone sitting with you as a patient you won’t get any care here. I had nurses asking me to show them techniques. Not okay. I’m not getting paid to train you. Take care of the patient please!! Also the original wing of the hospital is haunted and weird things happen (medically) don’t let them put you in that unit on that floor.
Waiting 60+ minutes for discharge papers is very unprofessional and unpleasant. Especially when you have a baby who's very fuzzy! While waiting for discharge papers I asked the nurses at the desk for an update but they were no help at all.
I think the nurses do well considering the staffing issue. I was treated by resident, Dr. Velasquez who didn't explain anything and seemed like he didn't know why he was there. He sent my medication to a closed phacmacy after I requested him to send it to another pharmacy that was open later. He was also supposed to give me a day's supply of medication but only gave 1 dose, which 6 hours worth. Maybe he is unaware there are 24 hours in a day. Either way, not exactly a home run.
I had brain surgery and was in the ICU and they kept forgetting to give me psychiatric medications until i would press the call button like, hey i'm suicidal again. then they'd send in 3 or more nurses who were shocked and couldn't understand why. cuz you keep not giving me my anti-psychotics. It's in my chart what time they're supposed to be given and you're off by like 4hrs and you won't do anything if I just remind you so I'm waiting to become suicidal to get my meds

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
