DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANNA SIT IN YOUR CAR OR WAITING ROOM FOR 3 HOURS. I went here with my first child and the doctor was on leave so she did not deliver my baby or was never at the office so I’ve never seen her once , now I’m on my second child birth thought is give it another try.. biggest mistake she has these unprofessional workers that don’t even know what they are doing in there guess what SHES ON LEAVE AGAIN. SMHSo she has this young girl subbing for her the girl doesn’t check the heart beat doesn’t check anything I’m 13 weeks pregnant and haven’t got to hear my baby’s heart beat once. I finally got a ultra sound because quote on quote they said “we have to see if your even pregnant” they wouldn’t even let me see the screen. Very rude an unprofessional.. to top it off she’s prescribed me prenatals 5 days ago so I went to the pharmacy today and they tell me my doctor never sent anything in. I’m done with this place. Never again will I go back or recommend this place to anyone. Save your time. Go to another doctor.
TLDR — P.A. gave misleading billing information for unnecessary tests. Now I need to pay $300 out of pocket because of her mistake.I scheduled an appointment at this OB/GYN to get a simple signature on paperwork for Accutane because it had relatively good reviews compared to other OBs in the High Desert. However, I was coerced into getting birth control pills (I specifically said I didn't need), a pap smear (that was covered by my insurance, except that it included an STD test, which was not covered—they failed to mention this), vaginal & abdominal ultrasounds, and unnecessary bloodwork (i.e., tests completely unrelated to the purpose of my appointment and what I have told her about my medical history) after being told by my P.A. (who said she spoke w/ the biller) my health insurance company would cover it and it should "not be more than $40" for all the tests. Naturally, I agreed to getting those tests done. Because I thought it would only be $40. At the end of my appointment, I dropped by the front desk to ask the receptionist if I had a co-pay for the visit. She told me, "You're all set; you can go." So I did. A few weeks later, I was rudely made aware of the charges for all the services: $300. I learned that the $40 actually was the co-pay for the appointment—not all the services—like my P.A. had told me. My P.A. incorrectly told me that the costs for the services were $40, when in reality, the costs for the services were $300 with an additional $40 co-pay for the appointment itself. The biller, P.A., and receptionist have done more harm by telling me incorrect costs for the services. To everyone who is considering scheduling an appointment here: find another OB/GYN with staff properly trained to provide correct billing information.
I wouldn't recommend to family or friends. I've waited for 2-5 hours to to be seen every time. Because of wait times I've seen arguments and people just cancel and leave appointments. The office has made going here a miserable experience. I've made appointments and they don't actually book them, they have cancelled my appointment do to short staffing, and have booked appointments on a day and tell me a different day. This office has a policy where they do not prescribe you medications over the phone or just send your prescription to your pharmacist, so when they mess up it also affects your medications. I've had to get medications from my primary because of their mistakes and also had to be sent to another location.
To be honest, at first I was scared having to come to a new doctor after insurance changes, but I was actually surprised with how awesome Melanie was. Wait was never long, it just seemed like the office are Melanie were a well oiled machine. But man, it's amazing how things have changed, every visit there are new girls up front. This is my 3rd visit in the past couple months, and everytime, someone new. Melanie seems very rushed and just doesn't seem as personable as she once was, understandable as your practice grows.I have NEVER, EVER, EVER walked out on an appointment. But today, this office, pushed my limits. I was coming in for ultrasound results, like normal mothers with small children that have spouses that work, I had to bring my 5 year old with me after kindergarten orientation. Mind you, I had her wear her mask to follow the rules of the medical office, watching husbands and boyfriends walking in and out no problem to accompany their significant others to their appointments. I waited in the waiting room with my daughter for 1:43 minutes, I finally asked how much longer because I had another appointment I needed to get to. The girl at the front said I was next, then mentioned there being a problem with my daughter being present. I told her she is 5, where is she suppose to go? Just stay out in the waiting room by herself? They then said they would have to run it by the doctor first. That's when I just walked out. what I wanted to say was, Um HELLO, she's is a 5 year old child in which covid-19 doesn't affect, and yes it's been proven, yet I still mask my child to follow your rules. You're putting more people in harms way by letting adults who aren't patience go back no problem. What I'm upset about is you let me wait almost 2 hrs to then tell me. Don't waist my time, that's something that should have been addressed the second you saw me walk in the door, at that time I could have rescheduled my appointment. AND seriously, if you're going to pick a choose who's allowed back and who's not, well thats a slippery slope to go down this day and age. Some might call it "discrimination".
Melanie is the best in the high desert. She has been treating my daughter for her endometriosis for 4 yr. she is so kind and really has a passion for her job. Would highly recommend her to everyone
This doctor booked my girlfriend for a hysterectomy. The hospital , victor valley global hospital told us to be there at 930 am with a schedule time of 1230. She was waiting in the hallway for 9 hours. it is now 545 pm and she just went in to surgery. They did not call us, We had to keep calling them to ask the status. We were told by a nurse at the hospital that Dr Aurora scheduled 11 surgeries for her and her father , ( her Obgyn parter). This has not been confirmed. It would seem this organization is concerned about quantity and money and not quality of care . Also the staff at the hospital was less then positive and informative. I highly recommended anyone to avoid this hospital.

I've been going to Melanie Arora for a year now and I love it! In a way she saved my life.....My blood pressure had been high for a about a year before seeing her, It was awful. At Times it would make me so sick.... I let My doctor know over and over again but still nothing was done. So a Big Thank you to Melanie for Noticing , And caring enough to fix it and get it under control... I now have the medication to make sure my blood pressure is Safe and balanced! She Is a great doctor in really cares about her patience. So once again thank you! thank you so much! I don't know where my health would be if I didn't see you!
I had call before my appointment to make sure they take my insurance and they told me they do. I then called the day of my appointment to see what time I was supposed to go in they then told me that my appointment was at the apple valley office. I then get to the office and they told me they don't take my insurance. I drove out there for nothing. They need to work on giving better information. I will not be going to this office ever again

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
