Do not go to this doctor - I begged him to do a pet scan on my husband - he just laughed. Then my husband died and I paid for autopsy - who agreed with me he would still have been alive. extremely poor care
Bad
I've been going there for 5 years. I have stage 3c ovarian cancer . I live in the high desert and realize that there is probably not enough competition up here for other oncologists. It still does not mean that patients safety and concerns should be pushed aside for monetary reasons. I'm sure dr. Nanda has far too many patients he has had many many changes in staff in five years. That alone speaks volumes. I remember when my cancer came back the first time and I had been in remission for two years when I went back he didn't even speak to me he had a new nurse practitioner tell me. Then because my insurance was only social security Medicare the chemo was to cost nearly $1.800 which I did not have so we had to organize a go fund me until I was put on i.e.h.p. my son paid out of pocket and was never reimbursed by nanda. Excuses were maid ect. To shorten this somewhat i had my daughter give me neuprogen shots at home only first time around and now I'm on my third time getting chemo this time were using carboplatin and taxol so I need the neuprogen shots. I found out I'd have to come down 4 days each week one for chemo the other four for neuprogen shots. The reason is because they are cheaper. I was flabbergasted before I could get my shot at home and go once a week for chemo now trips there four days a week because its cheaper for him. My chemo nurse showed concern she tried to get him to send a request. The office manager Veronica flatly told her no. This is even though i.e.h.p.had said yes it can be done. In a nutshell I will say just this when you are presented with a life threatening illness and people act that way you tend to look elsewhere. I am in the process of trying to switch to city of hope. I've seen Dr. Cristea there she had a appointment with me and took a great dealof time explaining options with a great amount of compassion. Yes its far and inconvenient but a million times better than being treated like you mean nothing. I have read every other review seems like there's a reason why he's getting one star. No more runarounds and finger pointing. Sometimes its just time to go elsewhere.

Can I put 0 stars? My father is a lung cancer patient seeking treatment from this office. Intially, he was still strong enough to drive the hour from Big Bear down to the Victorville office on his own. As I live 3 hours away, he would call and tell me about his appointments. The first round of chemo (3 infusions) appearred to go okay despite the wait time. He then took a break to receive radiaition for 3 weeks with another doctor. Upon returning, he was told he needed new labs before he could recieve treatment. He performed the labs but for whatever reason, Nanda's office did not get them. He travelled all the way there to be refused service. Nobody thought to call and let him know. After redrawing the labs, calling to verify their reciept, and confirming his appointment, he arrived with the help of a friend. He recieved treatment. The next day his blood pressure was taken (generally runs on the low side) and he was told he could not receive treatment due to it running low. At the next follow up appointment, Nanda responded with, "Of course your blood pressure is low. It's always low. We will just give you extra IV and continue treatment." He recommended two more sessions the following week. The scheduling eployee (who was clearly uncomfortable with someone in this stage of cancer) could not accommodate that request. My father did recieve a call to schedule the two sessions the following week. Then, the next day the office called and cancelled one of the 2 sessions because "they don't have the chemicals." Wow. Save your loved one. Go somewhere else.
I'm a hematology patient. Staff can't take vitals properly. My blood pressure is usually practically textbook, and every time I'm in there, it's always too low. And when it's stated that the office opens at 8am, why is it it's still closed at 8:30?
Went to see him for a lump in my breast. He comes in the room and tells you what he is going to do and leaves. He never gives you a chance to ask him any questions. Plus, he is arrogant and comes across racists.
I've been a patient of Dr Nanda's for a short period of time and his bed side manner and staff are absolutely terrible. He doesn't care about his patients nor does he return any phone calls. I had an emergency and I'm still waiting for a return call. I contacted his office and left several messages with no response. Thanks to him and his staff, I ended up in the hospital for 8 days in critical condition. I've since transferred out of his office and I hope you'll do the same.
Had an appointment Monday 10/15/18. I signed in 20 prior to my appointment time. After sitting in the waiting room for 20 min, I was called to the window where I signed in and was informed they had to cancel my appointment! Ridiculous !
My husband, Robert Pastella Sr, is the patient of Dr. Vir Nanda and therefore the following is his review. I have been a patient for the past 5 years. Check in time & also waiting time is minimal. The staff has always been very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable & professional. Dr. Nanda is a very warm & caring individual & takes the time to answer & explain all questions. I highly recommend Dr. Vir Nanda & his staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
